Div 2 Match Review - Tornado Sinks The Avengers.

 

 

The battle between these two teams meant that the winner gets in a better position to qualify for promotion to Div 1. However it was surely the tornado boys who were meant to have have a better day as they managed to setup a convincing win over a depleted and frustrated Avengers XI.

 

Tornado won the toss and opted to bat, they managed to set the avengers a humongous total of 306 for the loss of  8 wickets. All-rounder John Gabula top scored for tornado with a magnificent 95 not out of 99 balls and he managed to make a crucial partnership with Ashraf Senkubuge who carried the team after the early loss  Div 2 best batsman Adriko Brian who departed for a meagre score.

 

The Avengers started off the run chase in a dramatic manner losing two quick wickets to the tornado pace Duo of Cosmas Kyewuta and Trevor Bukenya. Only the Alpha Adowa who reignited the spark by hitting consecutive boundaries off Trevor using the cutshort extremely well.

 

However the fire couldn't burn all through and soon he was bowled by Trevor with the bowler having the last laugh. Chintan Kerai tried to hold the pieces of the batting lineup that had been torn apart with a patient 41.

 

The tornado spin duo of Ramathan Ochimi and Maxwell torach swept away the avengers tail each of them getting 3 wickets. Such a performance makes Tornado as one of the teams to watch out for and remains one of the favorite to proceed to Div 1 next season
