Africa CC 174/10 in 46.1 Overs (Quraish Kasujja 35(22), Marvin Kitamirike 22(88), Emmanuel Odeng 20(28)) lost to Tornado CC 176/4 (Trevor Bukenya 43*(56), Cosmas Kyewuta 38(22)) by 6 wickets
Man of Match: Trevor Bukenya 43*(56), 3/44 in 7.1 Overs
Tornado CC got back into winning ways with a thumping win against local rivals Africa CC. Clashes between the two teams date back to the 1980's.
Both teams came into this fixture looking to win since both had lost games in preceding fixtures and needed to win, not just for pride, but to solidify their standing on the log. Africa CC commonly known as ACC lost the toss and were asked to bat. Tornado knew that restricting ACC from scoring 200 runs plus gave them the upper hand in the game.
As Tornado would have liked it, Trevor Bukenya 3/44, Cosmas Kyewuta 2/39 and Ramathan Ochimi 2/25 produced fine bowling spells to restrict ACC to a modest 174 in just over 46 overs. Quraish Kasujja top scored with 35 in 22 balls but his efforts proved futile in the end as the Tornado bowlers quickly dismissed the ACC batmen.
Tornado aggressively chased the score losing 4 wickets in the process to hand ACC another loss in this campaign. The title contenders slumped to yet another loss putting them perilously close to the drop zone with only Wanderers sitting above the cut. Trevor Bukenya 43(56) not out and Cosmas Kyewuta 38(22) swung their blades hard and true to deny ACC the win.
ACC play Wanderers next on the 8th and will be looking to get back their mojo against a side that will equally be looking to get back to winning ways.
