Kyambogo Oval
Patidar CC 329/9 in 43 Overs (Gurpreet Singh 104*(41), Hardick Patel 98(97)) beat Wanderers CC 167/10 in 31 overs (Denis Musali 37(74), Joseph Byaruhanga 26(13)) by 162 runs
Man of match: Hardick Patel98 (97), 3/18 in 4 overs
A visibly out of touch Wanderers CC was on Sunday made light work of by Patidar CC at the Kyambogo Oval.
After six weeks of no game time, the proverbial rust set in on the Wanderers team and this was very visible when they finally graced a cricket oval. The game was awfully one sided as Patidar dominated proceedings from the very beginning putting the Wanderers bowlers to the sword despite the early 2 wickets they picked.
Wanderers were without their opening bowler David Kateyenge, and had to make do with Adonia Waibale whose exploits are known with the bat, and not the ball. Michael Nuwagaba 3/49 and Norbert Abii's 4/63 bowling exploits did little to stop Patidar from scoring 329 in 43 overs.
It literally rained 6s when Gurpreet Singh 104 not out off 41 balls walked it to bat. He had all the correct responses to all questions a visibly distraught Wanderers side asked. Hardick Patel's 98 off 97 balls was the turning point for Patidar as he patiently built his innings to deny the bowlers any chance at another wicket. He equally produced a fine bowling spell of 3/18 in 4 overs to see the Wanderers all out at 167 in 31 overs.
Denis Musali and his boys have a lot to think about going into the game against rivals Africa CC in 6 days at the university oval, Kyambogo.
