When Roger Mukasa plays Tornado Bee wins and that is becoming a trend if the four time champions are to win a league game. Their only loss this season has come when their tailsman was missing due to national team commitments.
His return last weekend helped them defeat a dangerous Ceylon Lions side in Entebbe and they will badly need him if they see off giant slayers Strikers. Since their promotion to the top flight Strikers have disrupted the peace of some big teams with KICC and Challengers falling victims to the youthful side.
Their Captain Frank Akankwasa has played as the perfect all rounder leading from the front with ball and bat scoring very valuable knocks as well as picking up key wickets. The addition of the experienced Ivan Thawithemwira added more steel to their middle order and his partnership with Derrick Bakunzi helped Strikers defeat Challengers.
The contributions from within the whole team has been the key to their success so far, they have had different players standing up in different with Rogers Olipa, Derrick Bakunzi, Fox Odoi, John Tumusiime and Ivan Thawithemwira all being key in different moments in games. Their marque signing Zephaniah Katungi is yet to show what he has got but he is due a big knock anytime and this weekend would be a good time to go for it.
Tornado Bee dealt with Ceylon Lions last weekend in a mature manner with Akbar Baig and Lawrence Ssematimba scoring runs, they will need the two to back up Roger but they still have alot of runs in the team in Abdallah Lubega and Deus Muhumuza.
While Tornado Bee relies alot on the spin of Roger Mukasa, Cyrus Kibuka Musoke, Akbar Baig and Abdallah Lubega their opponents are dependant on a mix of both spin an pace with Fox Odoi, Richard Agamire and the deceptive Davis Acire providing the pace options while Derrick Bakunzi and Captain Frank Akankwasa provide the spin option.
It will be interesting to see if the experience of Tornado Bee can see off Strikers while the latter will be hoping their youth can help them edge their seasoned opponents.
