Division 2
Budo v ACC
Budo Oval
In a historic first meeting of the two sides ACC ares strong favorites to win this encounter. Budo promoted from Div 3 last season will meet a determined ACC side that have meant business since their opening day victory against SKLPS.
ACC has a perfect record so far winning their opening two games against SKLPS and Avengers. The oldest club in Ugandan cricket missed out on promotion to the top flight last season via net run rate and they look to exorcise the demons of last season by gaining promotion this season.
Richard Lwamafa leads a very tight ship where the whole team contributes and its hard to know who will step up for ACC on match day, Emmanuel Odeng will be tasked with leading the bowling attack while Aggrey Kintu and Daniel Batuwa will be required to score the bulk of the runs.
Their opponents Budo have had a torrid start to life in Div 3 with losses to Tornado and Wanderers, however these are expected losses and if they can win the games they are supposed to win they will be able to survive relegation which is their main priority. Budo Skipper Abu Mayanja will be hoping for some change in fortune in their 1st home game
First home game of the season after two damaging defeats on the road.
We are looking at improving on our past performances as we take on arguably the strongest side in our division and that takes off all the pressure on us and allows us to express our selves.
We want to show the rest of the teams that we are not here to make up numbers but to compete
Abu Mayanja and his young lads will have to get their act together before they can run out of games to save their season, Patrick Oburu has stood out among the Budo bowling attack and he will be key in breaking partnerships while Abu Mayanja will have to lead from the front with the bat. Arnold Byarugaba and Joel Epiangu will have to support Abu in the quest for runs if Budo is to walk over ACC.
A shock is not off the cards and it will be interesting to see if Budo can make their home advantage count.
