Uganda To Host Tanzania U-19 Girls For Bilateral Series

Uganda Cricket Association will host the U19 girls from Tanzania for a bilateral series. The two countries will give a chance to the next generation of players as both countries look towards qualifying for the 1st edition of the U19 girls' World Cup. 

The bilateral series will take place from January 13th to 17th 2020 with the games played from Entebbe and Kyambogo Cricket Ovals. Uganda as the host has been allowed to feature two sides. All the games will be played on the T20 format with the action starting on Monday 13th January. 

Franklin Najjumba the Women's Development Officer Uganda Cricket Association give details about the upcoming event "We were unable to host the Africa U19 tournament in December due to reasons beyond our control. However, teams like Tanzania had made prior arrangements to be here and we decided to take advantage of this opportunity, we mutually agreed to have a bilateral series in January. This opportunity allows us to field more girls who get an opportunity to be exposed to international cricket at an early stage."

The two Ugandan sides will be handled by Ivan Kakande, Yusuf Nanga and Naomi Kayondo. Naomi Kayondo joins the duo who are were in charge of the girls' high-performance camp organized for the girls in preparation for the Africa event before it was canceled. Naomi is a level 2 trained ECB coach and also a full international with the lady cricket cranes and her involvement adds quality to the technical bench. 

The visitors will arrive in Uganda on January 11th and will be residing at Nob View Hotel in Ntinda.
