The Lady Cricket Cranes will enter a 10 residential training camp ahead of their Global World Cup Qualifiers slated for July 3rd- 15th in Netherlands.
The camp will have 19 ladies residing at Kololo SSS and they will be put through their paces by senior coach Francis Otieno and Assistant Coach Grace Mutyagaba.
The residential camp is made possible by the fact that its school term holiday and given that most of the members of the lady cricket cranes side are students the holiday gives the coaches enough time to work with the girls.
The lady cricket cranes were crowned African Champions after defeating Zimbabwe in the African Qualifiers in Namibia last year and they earned themselves as slot at the Global Qualifiers in Netherlands.
They will compete with seven other nations for only two slots available for the main World Cup showpiece, they will face two test nations in Ireland and Bangladesh plus other regional winners in UAE, PNG, Thailand, Scotland and hosts Netherlands.
The cricket cranes might be at the qualifiers for the 1st time but they will not be going to make up the numbers at the competition. The final 14 that will travel to Netherlands will be announced after the camp.
