Jazz Safari Women’s 40 over League

Tornado Bee CC Vs JACC

Jinja Oval

Never in their playing careers did the lady Bees think they would get to division two. Unfortunately, as the fates would have it, a lackluster performance saw them lose 90% of their games and eventually get relegated in the process.

Tornado Bee CC face off against a student development side at the riverside oval in Jinja for their first match in division two. The lady Bees will be glad that they managed to retain most, if not all of their players from last season. The likes of Mary Nalule and Saidat Kemigisha who heavily feature for the senior women’s side, will continue to ply their trade for the Bees. The duo’s batting skill will be heavily relied on this season if they are make a return into the first division at the end of the campaign.

While the Bees had a decent batting line up for any ladies’ team, the largely lacked in the bowling department. This was evident last season as their bowlers failed to deliver on several occasions culminating into defeat after defeat as they failed to defend scores or limit other teams from setting ridiculous scores. According to one of their experienced players Sherry Kutaka, the Bees need as many as three new bowlers to supplement on the already existing small bowling force. Mary Nalule was occasionally called up to take the ball and she often surprised herself and her teammates when she’d bowl well and pick wickets.

JACC on the other hand will be comprised of young school going girls from Jinja and the neighboring areas. They will come into this fixture fresh off the Girls’ schools cricket tournament and look to impress upon the pundits. Despite Tornado Bee being a tough fixture, JACC will look to exploit the weak bowling line up of Tornado bee to get a decent result from the game. The girls from Jinja will look to give it their all in this fixture with the hopes of pulling off an upset against the Bees.
