Results Summary
Patidar CC 323/10 In 48 Overs (Farid Dinani 75 off 84, Innocent Mwebaze 60 off 50) Beat Nile Cc 37/10 In 9.1 Overs (Kalyango Elias 17 off 12)
Man of Match: Innocent Mwebaze (60 off 50 & 13/7 in 4.1 overs)
Partidar won the toss and chose to bat with their minds set on a high score to propel them over title rivals Tornado by Net Run Rate. Dhruvesh Patel 26(30) and Mandeep Singh 17(23) opened the batting for Partidar but the partnership was short-lived as Najib Kakooza got the breakthrough for Nile when he bowled out Mandeep. Four wickets quickly fell as Juma Ochaya bowled and caught 2 and also got 2 bowled.
At this point it looked like the game had turned into Nile’s hands as 5 wickets had fallen in just 10 overs and only 50 runs were on board. However, the game turned away from NILE as luck covered Farid Dinani who was dropped 5 times on his quest for a half-ton and it got worse as they allowed Innocent Mwebaze to partner with Farid as he was also drooped in as many times. This failure to utilize chances haunted NILE as the last 5 batsmen scored quick 200 runs in the last 20 overs and this meant NILE had huge task ahead of them.
With such a target set ahead of them, NILE felt so frustrated and this perfectly reflected in their disastrous batting show as they were bowled out for 37 runs with 7 batsmen scoring 0 runs and facing not more than 2 balls. Only Kalyango Elias scored a double figures as the team collapsed to the lethal bowling of Innocent Mwebaze and Prakash Shah with the two bowlers picking seven and three respectively.
With such a performance, NILE remains one of the most likely to be relegated to division three with only BUDO in their company. With Budo losing to the Wanderers at the riverside oval, both Nile and Budo have set themselves up for a crunch final game where the winner survives relegation.
