STRIKERS C.C Vs KICC
ENTEBBE CRICKET OVAL
Giant killers Strikers C.C are back in action this weekend as they take on a KICC side that seems to only get better with every game they play despite the huge gaps left by Frank Nsubuga and Irfan ‘Afridi’ Mohammed.
The strikers have been the surprise of the tournament notching up two straight wins on the back of a humbling defeat to Aziz Damani. Most memorable is a 40 run win against Challengers C.C where they were limited to 160/10 in their pursuit of the 200/10 that Strikers set.
The additions of Ivan Thawithemwira and explosive batsman Zephaniah Arinaitwe has seen Strikers show some guile in the division 1 competitions. Strikers will be hoping to halt a Davis Karashani inspired KICC this Sunday at the lakeside oval in a match they largely think they can win.
KICC will be looking to Davis Arinaitwe to spin webs around the Strikers batsmen to ensure yet another victory. After a thrilling victory against the Bees last weekend that saw the former cranes skipper take home another man of match accolade, Karashani will hope to emulate his performances against Strikers.
His performances have left many wondering whether he retired too soon from the national scene or whether he is simply finding himself, which seems to be working. KICC have been heavily reliant on Karashani so far since their other two spinners/batsmen are away on national duty. Along Karashani, KICC will equally task Arthur ZIraba, and Fahad Sadiq with getting the runs that they can easily defend against an explosive Strikers side.
