CHALLENGERS C.C Vs KUTCHI TIGERS C.C
KYAMBOGO UNIVERSITY OVAL
“When two elephants fight, the grass suffers” – African proverb. The game between Challengers and the Tigers can somewhat be described as an affair of two fully grown elephant bulls strutting “their stuff” for the right to a mate. Survival for the fittest, as they call it.
In a rematch of last season’s nail-biting encounter between the two sides, Challengers C.C will take on the Tigers, and whilst form from last weekend suggests that Kutchi Tigers will go into the game as favorites, much will depend on the twelve players each team takes into the match.
Kutchi will have a full strength side with on form Nanji Pindoriya leading the charges with both bat and ball. They come into this game knowing a win will get them closer to the title that has so ever eluded them in their pursuits, with Aziz Damani looking the likely to stand in their way.
Challengers come into this fixture without star bat Ham “Big Fish” Kayondo whose batting prowess for the national team in Malaysia has caught the eye of many fans following the games.
They will also be without youngster Steven Wabwose who was taken in the place of Ahmed Shahzad who will be available for the team against the Tigers.
Challengers know they will have to bat well and put on a respectable score if they are to defend well, or chase whatever the Tigers set. They key wickets of Nanji, and Aezaz will be priority for Challengers if they are to limit the Tigers to a getable score.
