On a weekend where the selectors’ call for more runs scoring were answered, a century and five half centuries a sign of players picking up league form. For the first time this season there is no doubt that the team is more than capable of posting competitive totals.
Wanderers’ captain and wicketkeeper Denis Musali saved the selectors another headache finding a worthwhile wicket keeper and opener with the first century of the season, 4 catches 1 bye and 4 leg byes comfortably slotting into the number one position.
Joining Denis at the top of the order to form the first formidable opening pair of the season is Wasim Butt of KICC who notched up his first significant total in a while. U-19 prospect Cyrus Kakuru is one drop with a half century against Partidar.
Chintan Kerai of Avengers whose half ton held the innings together in the tight Jinja game of the weekend leads the middle order. Joined by KICC left hander Falak Sher with a solid showing at the top against Premier.
For the third week in a row Strikers CC captain Frank Akankwasa gets a call up in the middle order showing consistency and an unbeaten half century to lead the Strikers run chase. Davis Karashani of KICC and Sande Steven of Nile CC complete the trio of off spinners for the side.
Oneeb Tariq and Tembo Zubair of Wanderers taking the new ball with swing bowler Yogesh Rabadia of SKLPS shouldering change bowler duties with a five-fer against Nile C.C in Entebbe.
Captain for the side is Denis Musali and 12th man duties fall on the over qualified Frank Nsubuga.
