FORM GUIDE;

CHALLENGERS: W

STRIKERS: L

Challengers CC will take on the unpredictable Strikers CC in Entebbe. Challengers regrouped after a shaky start to the run chase against KICC thanks to an unbeaten Steven Wabwose knock.

Challengers Captain Hamu Kayondo Bagenda; “We expect the young team to come guns blazing, so we will have to use experience as an advantage and also try and suck them into our gameplan...”

Strikers never recovered from their top order collapse against Aziz Damani CC. Lessons on both ends for the top order, whoever learned his quicker will likely carry the day.

Stern and business like coach player John “Papa T” Tumusiime had one word when contacted at the nets during training; “win!”.

He will obviously settle for nothing less.

Players to look out for;

Hamu Kayondo;

The national team opener sat out game one with finger injury but seems to have recovered with an excellent 40 odd against Saudi Arabia in Kyambogo Oval. Always a good bet for runs if he gets going and as top order bat and captain, the responsibility and the oncoming Malaysia assignment should spur him on.

Steven Wabwose;

The left handed wicket keeper batsman has already played a winning innings for his side this season; long and patient to chase down K.I.C.C’s 89. His ability to bat through long periods if harnessed on Sunday should see Challengers win it.

David Wabwire;

The speedster has already bagged a five-fer for the season, his accuracy in Sunday will determine how long the Strikers Innings will last, and he must however keep a look out for the two men who love to play quick bowling in the opposition team; Wazombe Perry and Arinaitwe Zephaniah.

Frank Akankwasa;

Captain of Strikers and all-rounder, he bowled well in Game 1 but failed to deliver with bat. Frank will quickly learn that in Division one there are no days off for an all-rounder and middle to late order batman. A quick collapse to Aziz Damani and they are already on the back foot. The need for his first top flight win will be a driving factor.

Perry Wazombe and Zephaniah Arinaitwe;

These two appear on the list for their explosive style of play that may trouble opposition early on, how long they can stay on the crease can determine this tie, if either bats through a session and some overs, Challengers will be chasing the game.

Rogers “lipaas killah” Olipa;

The beanpole all-rounder struck a lightning 43(32) with 7 boundaries in game one and is the man in good form; no doubt the wicket Challengers will look to pick early on.
