Former U-19 player Daniel Batuwa, from Mwiri, will fill the void at Wanderers left by Arnold Otwan.

Kampala- At every start of the season, each cricket club wants to have the best crop of players to claim decent finishes in an upcoming season.
On the other hand, a club that puts better offers on table for players is one likely to reap more dividends.

And it is for these reasons that Kampala Institute of Cricket Clubs (KICC) has reaped more from the transfer window.

The Division II outfit has recruited at least 10 new signings ahead of the new season starting tomorrow.

“We’ve been struggling in recent years but we now want to get back to our glorious days,” KICC skipper Hanumant Katkar told Saturday Monitor. KICC won five successive league titles from 1992 to 1997.

“We are just trying to be a good and strong unit for the new season. We are bringing more locals to give them a chance and make the national teams of their age groups,” added the all-rounder.

Former Challengers’ skipper Daniel Ruyange, Charity pair of John Tumusiime and Jackson Ogwang, Tornado quartet of Abu Seguya, Grace Mutyagaba, opening bowling pair of Assadu Seiga and Irfan Afridi have all joined the Indian-oriented club.

But Afridi is yet to put pen to paper as Challengers are also wooing him.
