Matchday 4 of the Uganda Cricket Series UG20 on Saturday, 11th October, saw some stunning performances and crucial shifts in the tournament standings as teams battled fiercely across multiple venues.
11th-October
Wanderers vs KC Budo – Lugogo Cricket Oval
Morning Session
Lugogo Oval erupted as Wasim Butt and Perry Wazombe put on a commanding 154-run opening partnership, powering Wanderers CC to a challenging 196/5. Budo’s chase began well with Robert Owili scoring 44, but then the wheels came off spectacularly. Hitesh Prajapti produced a dream bowling spell, taking 6 wickets for just 14 runs—including a hat-trick—that triggered a dramatic collapse from 73/1 to 113 all out in 16.2 overs. Wanderers claimed a comprehensive 83-run victory, with Prajapti the standout hero.
Afternoon Session
Wanderers wasted no time in the afternoon, chasing down a modest 107 with ease in just 10.2 overs. Wasim Butt led the charge with an aggressive 42, supported by Abdul Basit Habib’s 52* off 24 balls. Raheel Sarwar’s 4 wickets and Basit’s brutal hitting underscored Wanderers’ dominance, sealing an 8-wicket win and a perfect day for the title favorites.
Nile vs Rounders – Entebbe Cricket Oval
Morning Session
In a thrilling 14-over contest, Rounders CC managed 90/9 thanks to gritty contributions from Calvin Watuwa (20) and Zulu Walaza (18). Nile’s bowlers, led by Sulaiman Mwebaze’s 3/9, did well, but Nile’s chase faltered under pressure. Nile’s reply faltered early, with Narinder Singh turning the game with a fiery 4-wicket haul (4-9). Nile collapsed to 89 all out, handing Rounders a dominant 46-run win and a memorable double victory on the day.

Mukono Warriors vs Aboojo – Serenity Oval, Kamengo
Morning Session
Mukono Warriors posted 136 all out, with Harsh Panchal top-scoring on 34. Aboojo CC responded aggressively as Amos Ahura and Brian Asaba (35) powered the chase. Joseph Baguma’s explosive 40 ensured a comfortable six-wicket win with 8.1 overs to spare. Aboojo stamped their authority early in the Uganda Cricket Series.
Afternoon Session
Mukono Warriors started strongly in the second match but rain intervened, forcing an abandonment with the game locked at 78/3. Both teams shared points as the weather denied a result, leaving fans eager for more action.
Tornado Bees vs SKLPS – Lugogo Cricket Oval
Morning Session
Tornado Bees edged out SKLPS by just 4 runs in a thrilling match. Simon Ssesazi’s blazing 64 and Jonathan Ssebanja’s quickfire 35 helped set 187/8. SKLPS fought back valiantly with Rinkesh Gajpariya’s 64, but tight death bowling from Ismail Munir and Akbar Baig sealed a narrow win for Tornado Bees.

Rain halted the second match after just two overs, with Tornado Bees on 23/1. Both teams shared a point in a frustrating end to what could have been another exciting contest.
Kutchi Tigers vs Mukono Development – GM Sugar Oval
Morning Session
In a tense Group D clash, Kutchi Tigers defended a modest 98 to beat Mukono Development by 21 runs. Cyrus Kakuru’s 36 was the lone resistance for Kutchi Tigers, while Ghanshyam Ashani’s 4/11 helped dismantle Mukono’s chase. Mukono never recovered, bowled out for 77.
Afternoon Session
Kutchi Tigers crushed Mukono Development again, bowling them out for just 52 before chasing the target in under 5 overs without losing a wicket. GM Sugar vs KC Budo – Florida Oval

Africa CC vs Ceylon Lions – Entebbe Cricket Oval
Morning Session
Ceylon Lions were on fire as Robinson Obuya smashed 73 off 35 balls, supported by Hamu Kayondo’s 63, pushing the Lions to 204/6. Africa CC crumbled to 72/6 with Sunil Kumar’s lethal 4-wicket haul, as Ceylon Lions won by 132 runs in a dominant performance.

Robinson Obuya was unstoppable, blasting 158 off 56 balls with 15 fours and 12 sixes in a spectacular display. Charles Musemeza’s 90 helped the Lions post a mammoth 295/3. Africa CC struggled again, finishing 67/9 and suffering a heavy 228-run defeat. Ceylon Lions’ batting power and disciplined bowling left their opponents overwhelmed.
Avengers vs Jinja SS – Jinja SS Oval
Morning Session
Avengers set a daunting 217/5, with Yashashvi Joshi smashing 75 off 44 balls and strong support from Abraiz Mir Ali (41) and Christopher Kidega (43). Jinja SS crumbled to 65/8, with Joshi taking 3/7 in a ruthless bowling display. Avengers secured a massive 152-run win.

Avengers dominated again, with Joshi leading the charge in both batting and bowling, crushing Jinja SS in a one-sided encounter. Their comprehensive 152-run victory showcased their all-round superiority.
