The CU Men’s UG20 Tournament 2026 continues on September 19 and 20, with four fixtures scheduled across Entebbe, Jinja and Florida Oval as teams continue their push towards the knockout stages.
September 19
Wanderers vs Centurion – Entebbe Oval
In Group B, Wanderers will face Centurion at Entebbe Oval.
Debutants Centurion lost twice to SKLPS last Sunday and will be looking to bounce back when they take on Wanderers, who enjoyed a good campaign last season, reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Aboojo.
Wanderers were crowned UG20 champions in 2024 after defeating Rounders and will be hoping to challenge for the title again this season.
The side has, however, been dominated by young players this year.
Despite their lack of experience, they will be looking to give Centurion a strong challenge following their good performance in the division two of the 50 overs league.
September 20
Kutchi Tigers vs Soroti City – Entebbe Oval
In Group A, Kutchi Tigers will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to defending champions Ismaili Community last Sunday when they face Soroti City.
Soroti City had mixed results last Sunday, losing the opening game to Tornado by 12 runs before winning the second by 60 runs.
They will be looking to carry that form into their meeting with Kutchi Tigers.
Kutchi Tigers reached the quarter-finals last year and will be hoping for another strong finish this season.
Emmanuel Twijukye hit a half-century last Sunday and will be one of the players to watch, alongside experienced all-rounder Derrick Bakunzi, who continues to provide leadership and guidance to the younger players.
Kutchi Tigers’ Steven Wabwose is currently the tournament’s leading run-scorer, with 114 runs from two innings.
However, the Tigers will miss Cyrus Kakuru, who is with the Cricket Cranes in Rwanda.
JACC vs Jinja SS – Jinja Oval
In Group D, there will be a Jinja derby as JACC takes on Jinja SS at Jinja Oval.
Jinja SS lost their opening two games to Iganga by forfeiture and will be looking to get their campaign underway with a positive result against JACC.
JACC, meanwhile, picked up their first win last Sunday when they defeated Mukono Warriors and will be looking to maintain that winning momentum against the school side.
JACC have played four games, winning one and losing three, but will be encouraged by the experience within their squad as they look to improve their campaign.
The side will again be without captain Kenneth Waiswa, who is in Rwanda with the Cricket Cranes.
Kenneth Isiiko impressed for JACC last Sunday and was named Player of the Match in the second game.
Against his former club, he will be looking to put up another strong performance.
Chennai vs Tornado Bees – Florida Oval
In Group C, league debutants Chennai will face Tornado Bees at Florida Oval.
Tornado Bees were in action last Saturday against Nile, winning the morning game by 40 runs via the DLS method before the afternoon fixture was abandoned due to rain.
Three Tornado Bees batters played key roles in their impressive 209/2 against Nile. Roger Galiwango Mukasa set the tone with an attacking 55 off 32 balls, including nine fours and two sixes.
David Musoke followed with an unbeaten 68 off 42 deliveries, hitting six fours and three sixes, while Munir Ismail completed the trio of half-centuries with an unbeaten 50 off 36 balls, including five fours and a six.
The three batters combined for 173 runs to lay the foundation for Tornado Bees’ 40-run DLS victory.
As the tournament continues, the teams will be looking to strengthen their positions in their respective groups and build momentum towards the knockout stages.
