

Day 14 of the CU Men’s 50-Over League delivered mixed fortunes across the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, with Tornado Bees CC overpowering Aboojo CC, Emmanuel Twijukye starring in Soroti City’s commanding win, while rain forced multiple abandonments that disrupted key fixtures across the competition.

Tornado Bees CC vs Aboojo CC – Entebbe Cricket Ground

Tornado Bees CC produced a dominant all-round performance to outclass Aboojo CC by 60 runs at Entebbe Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Tornado Bees endured a shaky start as early wickets tumbled cheaply. Yadav Chanchal was dismissed for a duck, while David Musoke and Roger Galiwango Mukasa also fell early under pressure from Aboojo’s disciplined bowling attack. Munir Ismail offered some resistance with 15 off 20 balls, while Jeremy Kibukamusoke added a useful unbeaten 16 to push the total to 105 in 25.4 overs.
Dan Keith Amani led the Aboojo bowling effort with 3/26, while Joseph Baguma also claimed 3 wickets. Philemon Rwothomio chipped in with 2 wickets as Tornado Bees struggled to build partnerships.
In reply, Aboojo CC collapsed spectacularly against a ruthless Tornado bowling attack. Suleman Sharif produced a sensational spell, ripping through the batting lineup with a 6-wicket haul. Jonathan Ssebanja and Roger Galiwango Mukasa supported brilliantly with 2 wickets each as Aboojo were bowled out for just 45 in 19.1 overs.
Baguma Joseph top-scored with 17 off 21 balls, but lacked support as wickets fell regularly around him.
Tornado Bees wrapped up a commanding victory with a clinical bowling performance.

Result: Abandoned due to persistent rain
The Jinja derby between JACC and Rounders was also washed out after persistent rainfall rendered the surface unplayable.

Soroti City CC vs St. John’s SS Mukono – Lugogo Cricket Oval

Result: Soroti City CC won by 148 runs
Soroti City CC produced a commanding batting display, led by Emmanuel Twijukye, before backing it up with a disciplined bowling performance to defeat St. John’s SS Mukono by 148 runs.
After electing to bat, Soroti City made full use of the conditions as runs flowed freely despite early setbacks. Alban Ainebyona (22) and Emmanuel Twijukye set the foundation, with Twijukye anchoring the innings superbly with a brilliant 81 off 67 balls, striking 11 fours and a six.
Ronald Ebulu (27) and Peter Ocen (22) supported the innings before Malinga Jacob stole the spotlight with a destructive 77 off 44 balls, smashing 6 fours and 5 sixes. Derrick Bakunzi added a quick 35 as Soroti powered to 324 all out in 42.5 overs.
In response, St. John’s SS Mukono showed resistance through Mathias Ssentongo, who top-scored with 56 off 81 balls, supported by Jonah Nsamba (31) and Daniel Rubangakene (33). However, regular breakthroughs from Soroti City prevented any sustained partnership.
Derrick Bakunzi and Stephen Okiror claimed two wickets each, while Malinga Jacob added a wicket as St. John’s were restricted to 176 all out in 47.4 overs.
Soroti City sealed a dominant home victory with an all-round team performance.

Pak Shaheens CC produced a composed chase to defeat Chennai CC by 4 wickets in a closely contested encounter at Akbar Baig Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Chennai CC posted a competitive 193 all out. Aneef Sha Mohamed provided early momentum with 43 off 25 balls, while Ratheesh S Pillai anchored the innings with 48 off 67 deliveries. Mohammed A K L Hakkem added 23, but regular wickets prevented a bigger total.
Abdul Basit Habib and Raheel Sarwar each picked up two wickets for Pak Shaheens, while Akbar Ahmad also contributed with two scalps.
In response, Pak Shaheens CC recovered from early setbacks through Sunil Kumar, who played a match-winning unbeaten 94 off 71 balls, striking 10 fours and 3 sixes to guide the chase. Raheel Sarwar added 35, while Abdullah Kabir chipped in with 16.
Despite wickets from Aneef Sha Mohamed and others, Chennai CC had no answer to Sunil Kumar’s composed aggression as Pak Shaheens reached 194/6 in 28.3 overs.
Pak Shaheens completed the chase with composure to seal a thrilling 4-wicket win.
