Jinja SS vs Soroti City – Jinja SS Cricket Oval
Jinja SSS will look to extend their impressive winning run when they host Soroti City in one of the standout fixtures of the weekend.
Jinja have won four out of six of their matches this season, including recent back-to-back victories over Tornado Bees and Wanderers.
Their latest outing saw them cruise to a nine-wicket win over Wanderers, while Soroti City suffered a narrow 13-run defeat to defending champions Olila CC after splitting points in last weekend’s double-header.
The last meeting between the two sides came in the semi-final of the 2025 Lyca Women’s T20, where Soroti City produced a commanding all-round display to secure a 54-run victory and book their place in the final.
After being put into bat, Soroti City posted 136 for 9 in their 20 overs, led by Player of the Match Jimia Abdallah Muhammed, who scored 36 off 29 balls.
Proscovia Alako added a valuable 25, while captain Janet Mbabazi chipped in with 20.
In reply, Jinja SSS struggled to build partnerships and were restricted to 82 for 7. Hope Shillah Mbeiza top-scored with 18, while Achieng Elizabeth contributed 13.
Soroti City’s disciplined bowling attack shared the wickets, with Anayo Christine returning figures of 2 for 19, while Kevin Amuge, Naume Jane Amongin and Apolot Patricia claimed a wicket each. Sharp fielding, including two run-outs, completed a dominant performance.
Jinja SS will once again look to Stephanie Nampiina, who has scored 180 runs this season, while Sheila Namagooba has been equally influential with the ball, leading the attack with 10 wickets.
Soroti City, meanwhile, will be banking on the experience of captain Janet Mbabazi, Proscovia Alako, Jimia Abdallah Muhammed and Naume Jane Amongin as they seek to hand Jinja their first defeat of the campaign.

Wanderers CC vs Tornado Bees – Florida Cricket Oval
Two teams still searching for their first victory of the season meet at Florida Cricket Oval in what promises to be a crucial encounter.
Wanderers head into the fixture following a nine-wicket defeat to Jinja SSS, while Tornado Bees were handed a heavy 152-run loss to Olila Cricket Club.
With both sides yet to register points, Saturday’s clash presents an opportunity to revive their campaigns.
The last meeting between the two teams came during the Group A stage of the 2025 Lyca Women’s T20, where Tornado Bees claimed a comfortable six-wicket victory at the Akbar Baig Cricket Ground.
After choosing to bowl first, Tornado Bees produced a disciplined bowling performance to dismiss Wanderers for 73 for 9 in their 20 overs.
Irene Mutonyi top-scored with 20, while Patricia Lydia Agwang starred with figures of 3 for 10. Ann Nyapendi (2 for 11), Hope Wanichan (2 for 8) and Lynette Nakato (1 for 9) provided excellent support to keep Wanderers under pressure.
Chasing 74, Tornado Bees reached the target in 18.3 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Player of the Match Ann Nyapendi anchored the chase with an unbeaten 29, while Jackline Nakayovu finished unbeaten on 11 to guide her side home. Wanderers’ best bowling performance came from Irene Mutonyi, who claimed 2 for 20.
Ann Nyapendi will once again be central to Tornado Bees’ hopes, while Wanderers will look to experienced campaigners such as Mutonyi Irene to inspire a turnaround and finally get their season underway.
Conclusion
With only Division One fixtures on the schedule, Saturday presents an opportunity for Jinja SS to continue pushing the envelope, while Soroti City look to keep pace with the league leaders.
Elsewhere, one of Wanderers or Tornado Bees is guaranteed to end the day with their first win of the season, making every match significant as the race for the playoffs begins to take shape.
