Ismaili vs Soroti City – Jinja SS Cricket Oval

In Group A, Ismaili will welcome back three Cricket Cranes players as they take on Soroti City at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

In their previous matchday, Ismaili had only 10 players available as several members of the Cricket Cranes were away on national duty.

However captain Riazat Ali Shah, Juma Miyaji and Pius Oloka have returned from Nigeria and are available for selection. Ghulam Hunzai is also available for selection.

Despite playing with 10 men, Ismaili won their most recent double-header against Tornado Cricket Club and will look to build on that momentum.

They head into the encounter unbeaten, having won all six of their matches to collect 12 points.

Two more victories would confirm their place in the playoffs as they look to maintain their impressive run.

Soroti City, meanwhile, have confirmed the availability of Emmanuel Twijukye as they seek a crucial victory to keep their playoff hopes alive.

They have four points from six matches, having won one, lost three and recorded two no results.

Soroti City will need to win all their remaining four matches and hope other results go in their favour to stand a chance of progressing.

The two sides last met in the 2026 Cricket Uganda Men’s 50 Overs League Silver Category on May 24 at Entebbe Cricket Ground, where Ismaili Community Cricket Club registered a convincing 106-run victory over Soroti City CC.

Ismaili posted 231 all out in 40 overs before dismissing Soroti City for 125 in 25.4 overs. Junaid Khan was named Player of the Match for his impressive bowling performance, taking four wickets for 33 runs in 7.4 overs.

Soroti City’s best effort with the bat came from Derrick Bakunzi, who scored 54 off 40 deliveries, while Emma Twijukye added 28. However, the target proved too much as Ismaili’s bowlers maintained control throughout the chase.

The previous meeting gives Ismaili a psychological advantage heading into the encounter, although Soroti City will be eager to produce a different result.

GM Sugar vs Iganga – New GM Sugar Oval

In Group D, GM Sugar will host Iganga at their new home in a fixture that will not change the playoff qualification picture for either side but could determine who finishes top of the group.

GM Sugar have already secured their place in the quarter-finals alongside Mukono Warriors and will be looking to finish the group stage strongly.

They have 14 points from eight matches, having won seven and lost just one. A victory would take them to 16 points and confirm their position at the top of Group D, potentially setting them up for a more favourable quarter-final opponent.

Iganga, on the other hand, have six points from eight matches, having won three and lost five. They can no longer qualify for the playoffs but will be looking to finish their campaign on a positive note and improve their final position in the standings.

With GM Sugar chasing top spot and Iganga playing for pride, both sides will have something to prove as they meet at the New GM Sugar Oval.
