UCA SKYVIEW BOYS SCHOOLS CRICKET WEEK (BSCW)
August 12, 2025. In a stunning display of power hitting and clinical bowling, Shree Sahajanand School Uganda successfully defended their Central Region Cricket Week title with an emphatic 68-run victory over St. John’s Senior Secondary School, Mukono, in the regional final at Budo Oval.
Since announcing themselves on the school cricket scene just last year, Shree Sahajanand have continued their meteoric rise, maintaining an unbeaten streak throughout the qualifiers and cementing their dominance in the region.
Central Region Final – Shree Sahajanand School vs St. John’s SS, Mukono @ Budo Oval

St. John’s SS Mukono: 118/9 in 15 overs (M. Ssentongo 35, F. Mulondo 28; P. Pransu 5/18)

Player of the Match: Devansh Patel (99 off 51 balls)
Devansh Dominates With The Willow
Electing to bat first, Shree Sahajanand’s openers launched an aggressive assault. Star batter Devansh Patel lit up the innings with a breathtaking 99 runs off just 51 balls, including 7 fours and 9 sixes. His partner Het Pindoriya was equally devastating, contributing 62 runs off 35 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Their formidable partnership of over 150 runs propelled Shree to a commanding total of 186 for 2 – the highest team score recorded so far in the qualifiers.
Bowling Brilliance Seals the Win
Chasing a challenging total, St. John’s SS Mukono struggled under pressure. Despite solid knocks from Mathias Ssentongo (35) and Fahad Mulondo (28), disciplined bowling from Shree’s attack curtailed any comeback hopes.
Patel Pransu was the standout bowler, tearing through the middle order with a devastating 5-wicket haul for just 18 runs. Support came from Shubh Nayee, who chipped in with two vital wickets. St. John’s were restricted to 118 for 9 in their allotted 15 overs.
Shree Sahajanand: Regional Kings with National Ambitions
The commanding 68-run victory secured Shree Sahajanand’s back-to-back Central Region title and reaffirmed their status as serious contenders heading into the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week Nationals scheduled for Fort Portal City later this month.
Last season, in their debut campaign, Shree shocked the cricket community by defeating Delhi Public International in the qualifiers and ultimately claiming the Plate Final at the Nationals against King’s College Budo, who hosted this year’s Central Region finals.
This season, Devansh Patel has been in sensational form, amassing 496 runs in 7 innings, including three centuries, at a blistering strike rate of 200.81 — making him one of the most feared batsmen in school cricket.

Regional Representation
The Central Region qualifiers featured 14 teams divided into two groups, with the top two from each progressing to the finals. The final showdown saw Group A champions Shree Sahajanand take on Group B champions St. John’s SS Mukono.
The following five schools will represent the Central Region at the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week in Fort Portal City:
- Shree Sahajanand School – Sensational new kids on the block

- St. John’s High School, Kauga – Another team that will be eager to punch above their weight
- King’s College Budo – 1988 & 2001 Schools Cricket Week champions have the pedigree
With a talented squad, depth, and momentum on their side, Shree Sahajanand School Uganda enters the nationals not only as regional champions but as genuine contenders for the national crown.
