Shree Sahajanand School Uganda were crowned Central Region champions of the 2026 Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week Qualifiers after defeating Uganda Martyrs College Sonde by 73 runs in a thrilling regional final at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on Sunday.

Result: St. Cornelius Secondary School Kalagala won by 67 runs
The triumph marks Shree Sahajanand’s third consecutive regional title after their maiden success in 2024, when they defeated Delhi Public International School at Entebbe Oval during their inaugural appearance.
Shree also defeated St Johns Secondary School to win it again last year.
Shree Sahajanand entered the knockout stage as the dominant side in Group A, winning all four of their group matches to collect eight points.

They continued their impressive run in the semifinals, overcoming last year’s national runners-up St. John’s High School Kauga by 12 runs to book their place in the final.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Shree Sahajanand posted a competitive 173 for eight in 20 overs.
Het Pindoriya anchored the innings with a composed 38 off 32 balls, including six fours and a six, while Dhruv Valani added 29 off 22 balls.
Sharad Vekariya contributed 20 from 27 deliveries before Shlok Dalwadi provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 20 off just 11 balls, including two fours and a six.

Christian Mulindwa was Uganda Martyrs’ best bowler, finishing with two wickets for 16 runs from his four overs.
In reply, Uganda Martyrs struggled to build partnerships and ended their 20 overs on 100 for nine. Timothy London Muhanguzi top-scored with 37 off 30 balls, hitting six boundaries, while Victor Mugisha remained unbeaten on 19.
Shree Sahajanand’s bowling attack maintained pressure throughout the chase, with Valani claiming three wickets for 19 runs, Pratik Khetani taking two for 16 and Patel Pransu picking up two for just seven runs. Valani’s all-round performance earned him Player of the Match honors.

Earlier in the day, St. Cornelius Secondary School Kalagala secured the final qualification place from the Central Region after defeating Shree Sahajanand International School by 67 runs in the placement match and this will be their debut appearance at the Sky View boys School Cricket Week.

St. Cornelius were bowled out for 123 in 16.4 overs after choosing to bat first, with Ethan Mitali scoring 29 off 17 balls, Mahad Sekito making 28 and Kenneth Ogenrwot adding 20.
Shree Sahajanand International were then dismissed for just 56 in 14.1 overs, with Rohit Keshwala’s eight the highest individual score.
Sekito completed an impressive all-round display with two wickets for 12 runs and was named Player of the Match.
The result secured St. Cornelius the 20th and final qualification spot for the 2026 Boys Schools Cricket Week Nationals, scheduled for August 22–29 in Fort Portal City at Nyakasura School.
