Third day of the CU Women’s National League Division One continued to deliver intense contests and dominant individual performances, with the Soroti Derby producing a split of results while Jinja SSS extended their winning momentum with back-to-back emphatic victories over Wanderers CC.
Soroti Derby Produces Split Results
Morning Fixture – Soroti City CC vs Olila CC (Soroti City Oval)
Result: Soroti City CC 100/7 beat Olila CC 96/8 by 3 wickets
Olila CC won the toss and elected to bat first, but were restricted to 96 for 8 in their 20 overs after a disciplined Soroti City bowling display.
Captain Malisa Ariokot top-scored with 37 off 48 balls, while Joan Ilora contributed 28 off 43 deliveries, including two boundaries and a six. Phiona Egaru Kulume added 10, but regular wickets and three run-outs stalled Olila’s momentum.

Malisa Ariokot led from the front with a commanding unbeaten 69 off 45 balls, striking 7 fours and a six at a strike rate of 153.33. She anchored the innings after early setbacks and guided a recovery that lifted Olila from 21 for 2 to a strong finish.

Stephanie Nampina stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 80 off 33 balls, smashing 11 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 242.42.
She shared a 102-run opening stand with Elizabeth Acheng, who added a calm unbeaten 29 off 24 balls.
In reply, Wanderers CC never recovered after early setbacks and slipped to 24 for 4 inside six overs.
