The 2026 UG20 League got off to an exciting start on Sunday, with Mukono Warriors, GM Sugar and SKLPS CC managed to be the standout sides after dominant performances across the opening-day fixtures.



SKLPS CC vs Centurion CC – Entebbe Oval (Morning Game)
SKLPS CC started their campaign with a 15-run victory over Centurion CC at Entebbe Cricket Ground, who felt the absence of key players Brian Masaba and Arnold Tembo.
Batting first, SKLPS posted 125/6 in 20 overs, with Nandkishor Patel top-scoring with 32. Leon Kigozi was the pick of the Centurion bowlers, claiming three wickets.

Centurion managed 110/8 in 20 overs in reply. Andrew Nyumba led the chase with 23, while Jackson Asiku added 20, but SKLPS held on for victory.
Dinesh Manji Vekariya starred with the ball, taking three wickets to earn Player of the Match honours.

Centurion CC vs SKLPS CC – Entebbe Oval (Afternoon Game)
SKLPS CC completed a double over Centurion CC with a four-wicket victory in the afternoon fixture at Entebbe.
Centurion were bowled out for 100 in 19 overs, with Andrew Nyumba again leading the batting with 24, while Tonny Opiyo contributed 20. Dinesh Manji Vekariya was once again the standout bowler for SKLPS, taking three wickets.
SKLPS chased down the target, reaching 104/6 in 17.5 overs. Vishal Bandheri anchored the chase with an unbeaten 25, while Vekariya’s all-round contribution earned him a second Player of the Match award on the day.

GM Sugar vs JACC – New GM Sugar Oval (Morning Game)
GM Sugar opened their UG20 campaign in impressive fashion, defeating JACC by 56 runs at the new GM Sugar Oval in Nyenga.
GM Sugar posted 147/8 in 20 overs, with Simon Ssesazi leading the way with a brilliant 63, supported by Siraje Nsubuga’s 35. Kenneth Isiiko was JACC’s standout bowler, taking three wickets.
JACC managed 91/6 in 20 overs in reply. Aaron Kusasira fought hard with an unbeaten 51, but lacked sufficient support as GM Sugar’s bowlers maintained control.

JACC vs GM Sugar – New GM Sugar Oval (Afternoon Game)
GM Sugar completed a double over JACC with an emphatic eight-wicket victory in the afternoon fixture at the new GM Sugar Oval.
JACC were bowled out for just 54 in 18.1 overs, with Ivan Baidhu top-scoring with 13 and Sadam Oyaga adding 12. Rahul Kumar Pravinbhai Patel and Siraje Nsubuga led the GM Sugar attack, taking three and two wickets respectively.
GM Sugar raced to 55/2 in 7.3 overs, with Mehul Kumar Chhotubhai Patel top-scoring with 23 and Kevinkumar Patel remaining unbeaten on 17.

Mukono Warriors CC vs Africa CC – Florida Cricket Ground (Morning Game)
Mukono Warriors CC produced a dominant display to begin their UG20 campaign with a 99-run victory over Africa CC at the Florida Cricket Ground.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Africa CC restricted the Warriors to 143/8 in 20 overs. Openers Hemant Hirani and Ankur Thakur led the batting effort with 32 and 27 respectively.
Raymond Kagera was the pick of the Africa CC bowlers with three wickets, while Hitam Patel and debutant Jovan Komagomu claimed two each.
Africa CC struggled in reply and were bowled out for just 44 in 14.4 overs. Jonathan Nyenya top-scored with six, while debutant Geofrey Kakaire and Het Pindoria claimed two and three wickets respectively.

Mukono Warriors CC vs Africa CC – Florida Cricket Ground (Afternoon Game)
Mukono Warriors completed a dominant double over Africa CC with a massive 191-run victory in the afternoon fixture.
Batting first, the Warriors posted a formidable 211/7 in 20 overs, with Harish Anandhan smashing 71 and Robert Ajuna contributing 35. Adup Tom was the pick of the Africa CC bowlers with two wickets.

Africa CC then suffered a dramatic batting collapse, being bowled out for just 20 in 12.4 overs. Jonathan Nyenya top-scored with 11, while no other batter managed more than three runs.
Kakaire Geofrey was outstanding with the ball for Mukono Warriors, taking 4/1, while Ankur Thakur claimed two wickets as the Warriors sealed a comprehensive victory.
