The 2026 UG20 league continues with crucial fixtures as teams battle to secure their places in the knockout stage, with Groups A and D set for important encounters.
In Group A, Kutchi Tigers will face Aboojo, while defending champions Ismaili take on Tornado in a match that could have a major impact on the group standings.
In Group D, Mukono Warriors will face Iganga with a chance to confirm their playoff place, while Ceylon Lions meet winless Mukono Development in Group A.
Day Eight Fixtures
25th October
Kutchi Tigers vs Aboojo – Entebbe Cricket Oval
In Group A, Aboojo, whose two games last Sunday were abandoned, will meet Kutchi Tigers at Entebbe Cricket Oval.
Kutchi Tigers sit at the top of Group A with eight points from eight matches, having won five, lost two and recorded one no result.
They will be without Cyrus Kakuru, who is in Abuja with the Cricket Cranes.
Aboojo, on the other hand, have four points from four matches, having won one, lost one and recorded two no results.
They will be without Lindon Mutengesa and Innocent Mwebaze, who are both injured, as well as Joseph Baguma and Enock Kasaijya, who are in Nigeria with the Cricket Cranes.
The two sides renew their rivalry after meeting earlier this year in the Cricket Uganda Men’s 50 Overs League Gold Category.
In their April 12 encounter, Kutchi Tigers secured a convincing 108-run victory after posting 149 all out in 29.1 overs before dismissing Aboojo for just 41 in eight overs.
Ghanshyam Ashani and Paresh Patel led the bowling effort, taking three and five wickets respectively for Kutchi Tigers.
The previous result gives Kutchi Tigers a psychological advantage as the two sides prepare to meet again.
Iganga vs Mukono Warriors – Jinja Oval
In Group D, Mukono Warriors will need just a win against Iganga to confirm their place in the UG20 playoffs.
A victory would eliminate both Iganga and JACC from contention while confirming that Mukono Warriors and GM Sugar advance from Group D.
A win would take Mukono Warriors to 12 points, level with second-placed JACC, but the Warriors have a superior net run rate, which could prove decisive in determining their final position.
Mukono Warriors will be without Gerald Olipa, who is in Nigeria with the Cricket Cranes.
With a playoff place within reach, the Warriors will be eager to secure the result they need and avoid leaving their qualification hopes to the final calculations.
Ismaili vs Tornado – Florida Cricket Oval
In Group A, Tornado will need a victory over defending champions Ismaili to keep their hopes of progressing to the playoffs alive.
Ismaili are unbeaten and sit second in Group A with eight points from four matches. However, they will be without captain Riazat Ali Shah, seamers Juma Miyaji and Pius Oloka, who are all in Abuja with the Cricket Cranes.
Tornado follow closely in third place with six points from six matches, having won three and lost three.
A victory for Tornado would bring them level with Ismaili on points and intensify the battle for the remaining playoff positions in Group A.
Ismaili, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run despite the absence of key players and strengthen their position as they seek to defend their title.
Ceylon Lions vs Mukono Development – Lugogo Cricket Oval
In Group B, Ceylon Lions will take on winless Mukono Development at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Mukono Development have endured a difficult campaign, losing all eight of their matches and remaining at the bottom of the table without a point.
Their chances of reaching the playoffs are diminishing, and they will need a major turnaround to finish their campaign on a positive note.
Ceylon Lions, meanwhile, have played four matches, winning three and losing one. They head into the encounter on the back of two victories against Pak Shaheens on December 4 and will be looking to build on that momentum.
Ceylon Lions will be without Charles Musemeza and Robinson Obuya, who are with the Cricket Cranes in Nigeria.
With Ceylon Lions looking to strengthen their position and Mukono Development seeking their first win, both sides will have different objectives heading into the encounter.
