Match Summary – Game 1
Cameroon: 42 all out in 19.4 overs |Uganda: 43/0 in 4.5 overs
Result: Uganda won by 10 wickets

Next Match: Uganda vs. Zimbabwe Emerging – June 5, 10:45 AM, Gahanga Main Oval
Winning the toss, Uganda chose to bowl first — a decision that surprised some but was tactically driven by early moisture on the pitch, offering potential assistance to the bowlers.
The move paid off handsomely. Debutants Kevin Amuge and Sarah Tino were handed their first international caps, with Amuge opening the bowling. Uganda’s bowlers struck early and regularly, dismantling Cameroon for just 42 runs. Only one Cameroonian batter, Noan Adrienne Nogono (10), managed to reach double digits.

Veteran spinner Stephanie Nampiina delivered a standout performance, claiming 3 wickets for 3 runs in 3.4 overs, including two maidens — a devastating spell that earned her the Player of the Match award. She was ably supported by Sarah Walaza and Patricia Akiteng, who picked up two wickets apiece. Debutant Tino made an impressive start, bowling a tight 4-over spell with figures of 1/5, including a maiden.
Uganda’s chase was swift and clinical. Openers Janet Mbabazi (26 not out) and Esther Iloku (11 not out) made light work of the target, cruising to victory in just 4.5 overs — before the end of the powerplay.

With momentum firmly in their favour, the Victoria Pearls return to action tomorrow at the Gahanga Main Oval for a high-stakes clash against Zimbabwe Emerging, scheduled to begin at 10:45 AM.
