KAMPALA – Cricket Uganda yesterday visited the offices of Hungry Lulu, a healthy snacks brand, to explore avenues for a strategic partnership centred on athlete performance and corporate collaboration.
A delegation from Cricket Uganda yesterday visited the offices of Hungry Lulu, a healthy snacks brand, to explore avenues for a strategic partnership centred on athlete performance and corporate collaboration.
The delegation, led by Acting Chief Executive Officer Evelyn K.B. Shinyekwa and Honorary Secretary Denis Musali, alongside Cricket Uganda Physiotherapist Imam Tugume, met with Ajay Bhanushali, a co-founder and leader behind Hungry Lulu, to discuss potential synergies.
The engagement allowed both organisations to discuss practical support systems, particularly how Hungry Lulu’s range of healthy snack bars, nut mixes, and protein products could support the physical conditioning, recovery, and fueling demands of national team athletes.
“Partnering with brands that share our vision for health, nutrition, and performance is a crucial step for Ugandan cricket,” said Honorary Secretary Denis Musali. “This engagement with Hungry Lulu is about finding direct, practical ways to support our players’ welfare while building a strong corporate relationship that adds value to both organizations.”
Acting CEO Evelyn K.B. Shinyekwa echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that athlete wellness remains central to Cricket Uganda’s long-term high-performance goals.
Cricket Uganda Physiotherapist Imam Tugume highlighted the health benefits of the products for elite athletes, noting their strong fit for national squad routines.
“Optimal athletic performance starts with what we put into our bodies,” said Imam Tugume. “Hungry Lulu’s range of healthy snacks is a great fit for our players. Clean, targeted nutrition is just as vital as physical conditioning when it comes to quick recovery, managing fatigue, and keeping our athletes performing at their peak throughout gruelling tournament schedules.”
Cricket Uganda and Hungry Lulu expressed strong optimism following the discussions, with formal details on the partnership expected to be finalized in due course.
