Day Six of the Great Lakes Men’s T20 at Lugogo Cricket Oval witnessed a change in fortunes as Victoria Strikers bounced back with a commanding victory over Mburo Blasters in the morning before Bunyonyi Warriors ended Kyoga Avengers’ unbeaten run with a spirited 35-run triumph in the afternoon.
Musinguzi Mathew powers Victoria Strikers to emphatic victory
Victoria Strikers posted 180/6 from their 20 overs after Simon Ssesazi laid the foundation with an impressive 64 off 39 balls, striking seven fours and three sixes.

Perry Wazombe chipped in with 23, while Pius Oloka added 29 off 19 deliveries.

Robert Ajuna provided the late fireworks with a blistering 43 off 21 balls, helping Victoria finish strongly after recovering from losing Kenneth Waiswa for a duck.
Yashashvi Joshi was the standout bowler for Mburo Blasters, claiming 3/18 from his four overs.
In reply, Mburo Blasters suffered an early collapse, losing three wickets for just 11 runs. Charles Musemeza attempted to revive the chase with 29, while Brian Asaba scored 33 and Innocent Mwebaze struck a quickfire 35 off 13 balls. However, the target proved too steep.
Mathew Musinguzi produced a devastating spell, taking 5/12 in four overs to dismantle the Mburo batting line-up. Jonathan Kiiza supported him with two wickets as Mburo were bowled out for 112 in 15.2 overs, handing Victoria Strikers a comprehensive 68-run victory.

Kassim Adam stars as Bunyonyi Warriors stun Kyoga Avengers
The afternoon clash saw Bunyonyi Warriors register their second victory of the tournament and hand Kyoga Avengers their first defeat.
Batting first, Bunyonyi Warriors recovered from losing Robinson Obuya off the first ball to post 136 all out in 18.4 overs. Joseph Baguma top-scored with a counter-attacking 36 off 21 balls, while Anas Baig made 19 and Abu Seguya and Mulongo Paul contributed 17 apiece.
Kyoga’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Ivan Baidhu and Dan Keith Amani picking up three wickets each, while Munir Ismail claimed two.
Chasing 137, Kyoga Avengers started brightly through Conrad Lubwama (22) and Ronald Lutaaya (21), but regular wickets halted their momentum.
Gerald Olipa scored 18 and captain Juma Miyaji added 20, but none of the batters managed to build a substantial partnership.
Kassim Adam led the Bunyonyi bowling attack brilliantly, claiming 5/14 from four overs, while Anas Baig picked up three wickets and Alijuna Fortunate chipped in with one as Kyoga Avengers were bowled out for 101 in 16.1 overs.
Kassim Adam was named Player of the Match for his outstanding five-wicket haul.
