Day seven of the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup at Entebbe produced two emphatic victories.
The Blasters asserted their authority in the morning to maintain their position at the top, before the Warriors responded in the afternoon with a ruthless bowling display to return to winning ways.
Blasters vs Titans – Morning Game
Toss: Blasters won the toss and elected to bat
Blasters: 111/3 in 15 overs
Titans: 77/7 in 15 overs
Result: Blasters won by 34 runs
The Blasters delivered a commanding all-round performance in the morning encounter of the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup at Entebbe, overpowering the Titans by 34 runs in a 15-over contest.
After opting to bat first, the Blasters laid a strong foundation through an impressive opening stand of 64 runs between Simon Ssesazi and Charles Musemeza.
Ssesazi played fluently for his 32 before falling just short of the halfway mark, but the innings never lost momentum.
Musemeza held one end together superbly, batting through the innings for a composed and match-defining 46*

Useful late contributions from Abraiz Mir Ali and skipper Kenneth Waiswa pushed the Blasters to a competitive 111/3.
The Titans’ chase unravelled almost immediately.
Disaster struck in the very first over as Jaffer Ochaya was stumped, and Conrad Lubwama was run out without facing a ball, leaving the Titans reeling at 0/2.
Although Amos Ahura attempted to steady the innings with a gritty 18, pressure continued to mount as another run out—this time of Ismail Munir—further dented the chase.
The Blasters bowlers maintained relentless control with disciplined, economical spells, strangling the Titans for runs and forcing mistakes.
Regular wickets ensured the asking rate kept climbing, and despite some resistance from Fred Achelam late in the innings, the Titans never truly recovered, closing on 77/7 at the end of their 15 overs.

Charles Musemeza’s calm and authoritative knock at the top proved decisive and earned him the Player of the Match award, capping off a comprehensive Blasters victory.

Warriors vs Gladiators – Afternoon Game
Toss: Warriors won the toss and elected to bat
Warriors: 132/9 in 20 overs
Gladiators: 84 all out in 13.4 overs
Result: Warriors won by 48 runs
The Warriors bounced back to winning ways in emphatic fashion during the afternoon encounter of the MAXX T20 Challenge Cup at Entebbe, producing a dominant bowling display to dismantle the Gladiators by 48 runs.
Batting first, the Warriors got off to a lively start as seamers flew early on, with Ronald Lutaaya and Fahad Mutagana taking the attack to the Gladiators’ bowlers.
Lutaaya’s brisk 25 set the tone, while Mutagana provided support as the pair pushed the score along in the powerplay.
The introduction of spin, however, began to slow the momentum. Suleman Sharif’s sixth over proved crucial, conceding just two runs and picking up a wicket to shift the pressure back onto the Warriors.
Despite a tight seventh over from Edwin Nuwagaba, where only two runs were conceded, the Warriors found resistance through Steven Wabwose, whose top-scoring 32 anchored the middle overs. Late contributions from Owili Robert ensured the Warriors posted a competitive 132/9 at the end of their 20 overs.
The Gladiators’ chase never truly took off.
Although nine runs came from the opening over, the innings quickly unraveled under sustained pressure. Early wickets dented their confidence, and the disciplined Warriors bowling attack tightened the screws with every over.
Brian Asaba tried to hold things together with a patient 18, offering brief resistance, but his dismissal on the first ball of the 10th over effectively sealed the Gladiators’ fate. From there, the collapse was swift and decisive.
Jackson Asiku was the architect of the Gladiators’ downfall, producing a sensational spell that yielded five wickets.
His incisive bowling ripped through the middle and lower order, ensuring the Gladiators were bowled out for just 84 in 13.4 overs.
Asiku’s five-wicket haul was the defining performance of the match and rightly earned him the Player of the Match award.
