Uganda won the toss and elected to bat first, making one change to the side that defeated Mozambique, with Ronald Rubangakene coming in for Larry Elton Itaagi.
The Baby Cricket Cranes made a steady start, reaching 53/1 after 10 overs, before Abraiz took control of the innings and anchored Uganda’s batting effort.
Abraiz produced a superb 107 not out off 131 balls, an innings decorated with five fours and two sixes.

His composed century provided the foundation for Uganda to post a challenging 270/8 in their allotted 50 overs.
Abraiz built crucial partnerships throughout the innings, first helping Uganda recover from the early loss of Samuel Ahaisibwe before guiding the middle order through the difficult phases of the innings.
Ronald Rubangakene added a brisk 22 off 11 balls, while Robert Owili contributed 18 runs. Kenneth Isiiko and Daniel Rubangakene also chipped in as Uganda finished strongly, scoring 50 runs in the final six overs to reach 270/8.

Defending the total, Uganda’s bowlers once again produced a disciplined and relentless display, leaving Ghana struggling for momentum throughout their chase.
Richard Sohera was the pick of the attack, returning outstanding figures of 2/7 from 10 overs, including seven maidens.
Jackson Asiku claimed 3/28 from his 10 overs, while Devanshkumar Ritesh Patel took 2/2 from 3.5 overs.
Ghana was eventually bowled out for just 95 in 41.5 overs, with Jacob Ayolehene top-scoring with 26 as Uganda’s bowlers maintained pressure through tight spells and regular wickets.

The 175-run victory keeps Uganda as the only unbeaten team in the tournament, strengthening their position as they continue their push for promotion back to Division One.
Abraiz was fittingly named Player of the Match for his outstanding unbeaten 107, an innings that combined patience, control and attacking stroke play to put Uganda firmly in command.

Following the win, Assistant Head Coach Jonathan Sebanja praised the team for its all-round performance, highlighting the batters’ understanding of playing in phases and building partnerships.
He also commended the bowlers for consistently hitting the right areas despite some resistance from the Ghanaian batters.
“Tomorrow, we play Sierra Leone. We embrace the challenge and are not taking any opposition for granted. We remain focused on our goal of winning this tournament and want to finish unbeaten.”
The Baby Cricket Cranes return to action tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, at the Gahanga Main Ground, where they will take on Sierra Leone U19.
With another emphatic victory secured, Uganda remains on course for the ultimate objective returning to Africa Division One and keeping alive their ambition of securing a fourth appearance at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
