16–17 May 2026 – Matchday 12 Preview
Matchday 12 of the CU Men’s 50 Over League promises another action-packed weekend with fixtures lined up across Saturday and Sunday in the Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories.

GOLD CATEGORY
JACC vs Aboojo – Jinja SS Cricket Oval
JACC will host Aboojo CC at Jinja SS Cricket Oval to kick off a busy weekend of league action.
Last season’s meetings between the two sides produced drama despite only one fixture being completed on the field.
On May 4, 2025, JACC edged Aboojo by just three runs via the DLS method after posting 179/3 and bowling out Aboojo for 173 in 47.3 overs. The return fixture later ended in a forfeiture, with JACC awarded the win.
Both teams head into this clash looking to recover from defeats in their previous outings. Aboojo suffered a heavy loss against GM Sugar last weekend, while JACC fell to Ceylon Lions in their most recent fixture.
Aboojo will be without Innocent Mwebaze (Injured), as well as Joseph Baguma and Enock Kasaija who are both heading with the cricket cranes to Mumbai.
Rounders vs Mukono Warriors – Entebbe Cricket Oval
Rounders and Mukono Warriors will meet for the very first time in history at Entebbe Cricket Oval.
Both sides enter the game on the back of defeats. Mukono Warriors lost to GM Sugar in their previous outing and will also miss Ronald Lutaaya, Gerald Olipa and Fahad Mutagana, who have joined the Cricket Cranes squad for the tour to Mumbai. Fahad’s absence will especially be felt after earning his maiden national team call-up.
Rounders, meanwhile, come into the contest after an 8-wicket defeat to Tornado Bees earlier this month.
Ceylon Lions vs GM Sugar – Jinja SS Cricket Oval
Two in-form sides will square off when Ceylon Lions take on GM Sugar at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.
Ceylon Lions will be without Charles Musemeza, who is part of the Cricket Cranes squad travelling to Mumbai. GM Sugar will also miss brothers Simon Ssesazi and Henry Ssenyondo due to national team duty in India.
GM Sugar head into the fixture after a dominant 167-run victory over Aboojo last weekend, while Ceylon Lions are fresh from a commanding 118-run win against JACC, setting up a highly competitive clash between two confident teams.
SILVER CATEGORY
Kutchi Tigers B vs Soroti City – GM Sugar Cricket Oval
Kutchi Tigers B and Soroti City renew their rivalry in a crucial Silver category encounter at GM Sugar Cricket Oval.
Soroti City will be seeking revenge after their painful 83-run DLS defeat to Kutchi Tigers B last season, a result that ended their hopes of promotion to Division One.
In that meeting, Kutchi Tigers B posted 153/4 in a rain-shortened match, with captain Varsani Bharat starring with an unbeaten 33 before later claiming six wickets to bowl Soroti City out for 97.
Both teams come into this fixture battling near the relegation zone. Kutchi Tigers B have collected three points from five matches, while Soroti City also sit on three points after three matches.
BRONZE CATEGORY (B)
Pak Shaheens vs Chennai – Serenity Oval, Kamengo
Pak Shaheens and Chennai CC will face off for the first time in the Bronze Group B clash at Serenity Oval in Kamengo.
Chennai head into the game full of confidence after a dominant 199-run DLS victory over Centurion A in their previous outing.
Pak Shaheens, meanwhile, saw their last fixture against Africa Cricket Club abandoned due to rain.
Both sides remain unbeaten heading into the encounter, adding even more anticipation to what promises to be a competitive fixture.
FINAL WORD
Matchday 12 brings another exciting round of fixtures across all categories, with important points at stake in both the title race and relegation battle.
From heavyweight clashes in the Gold division to revenge battles in Silver and unbeaten runs on the line in Bronze, the weekend promises plenty of thrilling cricket action.
