Following a successful collaboration during the recent CU 50 Overs Men’s League Final at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, Cricket Uganda (CU) held a high-level meeting with Made In Uganda (MIU) to discuss establishing a formal, long-term strategic partnership.

Cricket Uganda was represented at the prospective partnership meeting by Honorary Secretary Denis Musali and Operations Manager Joshua Mwanja, alongside the media and communications team.

Ideas on the table: A moment of shared focus as the collaborative strategy between Cricket Uganda and Made in Uganda takes shape.

The core focus of the discussions was to explore how the two entities can leverage their platforms to create mutual value and drive domestic engagement through sports.

Building on the Success at Lugogo

The foundation for these talks was laid at the climax of the 50 Overs Men’s League Final at Lugogo, where Made In Uganda stepped forward as a vital supporter of the event.

Made In Uganda presented specially curated corporate hampers to the Individual Award Winners spanning the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Recognising top performers like Perry Wazombe, Junaid Khan, Riazat Ali Shah, Devash Patel and Simon Okecho highlighted the shared commitment to elevating local talent and celebrating excellence.

Building on that momentum, the meeting served as an opportunity to review the final’s success and map out a structured path forward.

A Prospective Partnership

During the session, both leadership teams discussed how a long-term partnership could give Made In Uganda high-engagement channels to connect with consumers across Cricket Uganda’s extensive tournament calendar.

“Our goal at Cricket Uganda is to build sustainable relationships that extend beyond the boundary ropes,” said Honorary Secretary Denis Musali. “Partnering with a platform like Made In Uganda allows us to use our growing domestic tournaments to create meaningful commercial value and support the local ecosystem.”

“From an operational perspective, having Made In Uganda support the 50 Overs Final at Lugogo showed us exactly how we can elevate the match-day experience for our players,” Operations Manager Joshua Mwanja added. “As we look ahead to a very busy tournament calendar, our goal is to create a seamless environment where local brands can showcase their products efficiently while we deliver top-tier sporting entertainment.”

By aligning upcoming major tournaments with MIU’s digital and commercial footprint, the prospective partnership aims to offer local businesses and vendors unique exhibition platforms to reach thousands of physical spectators and digital viewers.
