A decisive day in the CU Men’s 50 Overs League saw Tornado Bees CC crowned Gold Category champions following a commanding victory over JACC, securing their fifth trophy.

Kutchi Tigers CC also finished strongly with a win over Mukono Warriors CC, while SKLPS CC defeated Avengers CC in a result that had no bearing on promotion, with Avengers having already secured their place in Division One.

In the Silver Category, Ismaili Community CC were confirmed as Division Two champions and earned promotion to Division One for the first time in the club’s history, marking a major milestone for the club.

Tornado Bees CC delivered a statement performance, outclassing JACC by 78 runs at Jinja SSS Cricket Ground to seal the CU Men’s 50 Overs League GOLD title with matches still to spare.

Batting first after losing the toss, Tornado Bees posted a formidable 296 all out in 47.5 overs. Roger Galiwango Mukasa led the charge with a superb 83 off 64 balls, well supported by Anas Baig’s explosive 66 off 46 deliveries.

Jonathan Ssebanja added a valuable 43 to keep the scoreboard ticking despite regular JACC breakthroughs.

JACC’s bowling effort saw Aloysius Odoi and Ivan Baidhu each claim three wickets, while Sadam Oyaga and Kenneth Waiswa chipped in with key scalps to slow the momentum at different stages.

In reply, JACC showed resistance through skipper Kenneth Waiswa (63) and Johnathan Nyiiro (45), while Aloysius Odoi added a fighting unbeaten 47.

However, the required rate and early damage made the chase difficult, and they closed on 218/5 in 50 overs.

Tornado Bees’ bowling unit held firm in the decisive phases, with Jonathan Ssebanja and Kyewuta Cosmas among the wicket-takers who ensured the chase never truly gained traction.

Kutchi Tigers CC maintained their strong form with a composed five-wicket victory over Mukono Warriors CC at Entebbe Cricket Ground.

Mukono Warriors, batting first, were restricted to 167 all out in 45 overs.

Harish Anandhan top-scored with 39, while Ronald Lutaaya (23) and Musa Majid Ramathan (22 not out) offered some resistance.

However, regular strikes prevented any meaningful partnerships from developing.

Kutchi Tigers’ bowlers dominated proceedings, with Dhansh Jesani and Vekariya Kush Mahesh producing exceptional spells, each claiming four wickets to dismantle the innings.

Chasing 168, Kutchi Tigers recovered from early pressure to complete the target in 36.5 overs. Cyrus Kakuru anchored the innings with a fluent unbeaten 77 off 91 balls, while Mitul Pindoriya added a calm 33 not out to guide the chase.

Mukono Warriors’ bowlers Hemant Hirani and Fahad Mutagana took two wickets each, but the total proved insufficient.

Batting first, Avengers CC were bowled out for 163 in 38 overs.

Rohan Singh (49) and captain Atul Rana (52) provided the backbone of the innings, but consistent breakthroughs kept them under pressure throughout.

SKLPS CC’s bowling was spearheaded by a brilliant spell from Gajpariya Rinkesh Ramesh, who claimed six wickets, while Dinesh Manji Vekariya supported strongly with three wickets to restrict the batting effort.

In response, SKLPS chased down 164 in 26.3 overs despite early hiccups. Vishal Bandheri played a match-defining unbeaten 85 off 73 balls, anchoring the innings with authority, while Chetan Halai added a useful 26.

Avengers CC bowlers Nasta Girish and Christopher Kidega took three wickets each, but SKLPS held their nerve to complete the chase comfortably.
