MCA Colts XI vs. Uganda XI
Adani Stadium, Dahanu, Palghar District
50-Over Match, 7am

Dahanu, May 22. The Cricket Cranes produced their most ruthless display of the historic Mumbai Tour so far, demolishing MCA Colts XI by nine wickets in the third 50-over match at the picturesque Adani Stadium in Dahanu on Friday morning.
The emphatic victory gives Uganda an unassailable 3-0 lead in the four-match 50-over leg of the tour with one match still to play, underlining the growing confidence and tactical maturity within Steve Tikolo’s squad ahead of major ICC assignments later this year.
Having dominated the opening two matches at the PDTSA Oval, Uganda carried the same intensity to the beautiful Adani Stadium – located roughly an hour’s drive from the team’s residence at Reyansh Pride in Boisar – Mumbai’s Industrial Area – and completely overwhelmed a strengthened MCA Colts XI side that had entered the contest hoping to revive the series.
Instead, Uganda exposed every weakness with a clinical bowling display before completing a rapid chase in just 6.3 overs.

Bowlers dictate terms
After winning the toss, captain Fred Achelam opted to bowl first on a fresh surface that offered just enough assistance for disciplined seam bowling and accurate spin. Uganda immediately adjusted their plans after studying MCA Colts’ batting strengths across the first two games.
The hosts had previously looked comfortable against balls outside the body, but Uganda’s attack responded brilliantly by targeting the stumps and cramping the batters for room throughout the innings.
MCA Colts never recovered from the early pressure. Juma Miyaji struck in the opening over while Cosmas Kyewuta removed Visharad Pagare soon after as Uganda tightened control with every passing over.
Only wicketkeeper Harsh Rane showed resistance with 18 off 40 balls while the remainder of the batting lineup struggled badly against Uganda’s relentless accuracy and intelligent field placements.

Finger spinner Joseph Baguma delivered the defining spell of the innings with outstanding figures of 3 for 10 in seven overs, constantly attacking the stumps and forcing mistakes from increasingly desperate batters.
New swing bowler Aakar Rane also impressed on debut conditions, producing a disciplined spell of 2 for 14 in five overs while experienced all-rounder Alpesh Ramjani returned superbly with miserly figures of 2 for 3 from five overs including three maidens.
MCA Colts were eventually bundled out for just 56 in 26.3 overs – their batting lineup made to look completely ordinary by Uganda’s relentless pressure and collective discipline.
Nakrani explains tactical shift
Left-handed all-rounder Dinesh Nakrani later revealed how Uganda deliberately altered their bowling plans after the opening two games.
“We understood the plan very well,” Nakrani explained after the match.
“The plan was to bowl middle stump and body lines. After the first two games, they looked good with balls away from the body but now we kept it tight — wicket to wicket for the spinners — and the pacemen gave them no room to swing and free their arms.”
The performance reflected Uganda’s growing adaptability and game awareness throughout the tour.

Chase completed in style
Needing only 57 runs for victory, Uganda’s batters wasted no time finishing the contest emphatically.
Raghav Dhawan continued his excellent tour form with an aggressive 20 off 16 balls featuring four boundaries before debutant wicketkeeper Sarvesh Patil entertained with an unbeaten 19 off 14 deliveries. Ronald Lutaaya added a lively unbeaten 9 as Uganda raced to 58 for 1 inside seven overs.
The crushing victory further strengthened the positive atmosphere within the touring camp as Uganda continues building momentum ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B in Tanzania this August and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers in Nigeria later this year.
Uganda will now target a clean sweep when the teams meet again in the fourth and final 50-over contest on Sunday at the same time and venue – Adani Stadium.
