The shift in intensity was immediate, with established contenders asserting control while emerging sides continued to shape their tournament narratives.

Jinja SS, Olila High School, and Light SS all made strong opening statements in the Super 8, while the placement bracket delivered its own drama and redemption arcs.

St. Theresa continued their steady rise in the tournament, comfortably chasing down a modest target to seal a convincing nine-wicket victory.

After a disciplined bowling display that restricted Goodheart SS to just 31 all out, they made light work of the chase.

The win marked their second of the campaign, reflecting a growing sense of confidence within the squad.

Despite missing out on Super Eight qualification, St. Theresa secured a respectable third-place finish in Group C and head into the placement stage with momentum.

Rwenzori’s innings collapsed dramatically as they were bowled out for just 10 runs in 7.3 overs, with Mercy Nakamya and Lillian Nanyunja sharing all ten wickets between them in a ruthless bowling display.

In response, St. Cornelius needed just 1.5 overs to complete the chase, with Cathy Zawede finishing unbeaten on 5 to guide her side home with ease.

Despite the loss, Nyakasura showed resilience to close out their campaign on a positive note, gaining confidence heading into the next phase, even as they settled for fourth place in the group.

Despite the pressure, Elizabeth Acheng (25) and Asha Mukite (26) offered resistance, helping push the total to a competitive score.

St. John’s bowlers maintained tight lines throughout, limiting scoring opportunities and applying constant pressure.

In reply, St. John’s SS Mukono also found runs hard to come by, finishing on 55/9 in their 20 overs.

Giringish Shadia Nabulime provided the main resistance with an unbeaten 20, but lacked support from the other end as wickets fell regularly.

In reply, Light SS also struggled under pressure but managed to scrape through to 47/8 in 15.4 overs.

Susan Akidi (10) top-scored in a tense chase, as Masindi’s bowlers kept the game alive until the final stages.

Despite the pressure, Light SS held their nerve late on to complete a hard-fought victory and continue their strong tournament run.
