Elevating the Girl Child through Sports

As part of the multi-tiered sponsorship package, Movit Products Limited has provided essential personal care and hygiene supplies to participating schools throughout the competition.

Speaking on the partnership, the Movit brand team emphasised the alignment between athletics and personal wellness under their core campaign theme, #AllDayConfidence:

At Movit, we firmly believe that sport can be used as a platform to elevate the girl child. By promoting proper hygiene and well-being, we aim to boost their confidence on and off the pitch. We are excited to see the girls compete fiercely and have fun over the next week.

The 22nd edition of the Girls’ Schools Cricket Week arrives as women’s and girls’ cricket continues to surge in participation and regional representation.

The tournament’s expansion from 16 to 20 schools – including five debutante sides from around the country is being supported by the National Sports Act framework, which aims to decentralise the sport’s footprint away from traditional urban centres.

Tournament Director Grace Mutyagaba expressed immense enthusiasm for the impact of the partnership:

I am thrilled by the sponsorship between Cricket Uganda and Movit Products Limited. Movit has come on board to ensure they empower the girl child and to make sure they play with confidence. They have sponsored several things which the girls will be using for this period of a week in Gulu City.

The tournament is well underway at the Gulu High School oval, with defending champions Olila High School facing strong challenges from traditional powerhouses such as Jinja Senior Secondary School, Gayaza High School, and many others.
