Magwa Ward Strikers were crowned champions of the Jinja Easter T10 2026 after a composed six-wicket victory over Gokhale Thunderbolts in the final held at Jinja SSS Cricket Ground.

In a low-scoring but competitive encounter, Magwa Ward comfortably chased down a target of 41 runs, reaching 41/4 in 8.3 overs to seal the title and cap off an exciting tournament.

Earlier, Gokhale Thunderbolts, batting first, struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 40/5 in their allotted 10 overs.

Abey Patel top-scored with 14 runs, while captain Rashid Ayub remained unbeaten on 10.

Magwa Ward’s bowling attack proved decisive, with Ben Mulindwa delivering a standout performance, picking up two wickets and maintaining tight control to earn the Player of the Match award.

Enock Muwanguzi and Lennox Muhanguzi also chipped in with crucial breakthroughs to keep Gokhale under pressure throughout the innings.

Chasing a modest target, Magwa Ward had a shaky start, losing an early wicket in the very first over.

However, captain John Okiror steadied the innings with a calm unbeaten 16, anchoring the chase despite wickets falling at intervals.

Richard Sohera (10) and Ben Mulindwa (8) provided valuable contributions to keep the scoreboard ticking before the finishing touches were applied, guiding the team over the line with relative composure.

The Jinja Easter T10, held from April 3, 2026, delivered an exciting showcase of fast-paced domestic cricket in the Eastern region.

Magwa Ward Strikers emerged champions after a strong campaign, finishing ahead of Gokhale Thunderbolts.

Across 10 matches, 57 players scored 1,033 runs and claimed 90 wickets, underlining the tournament’s intensity.

Ben Mulindwa stood out among the top performers, while Pushppreet Singh led the bowling charts with seven wickets, including brilliant figures of 5/4.

Trevor Arikirjza registered the highest individual score of 32.

The tournament featured thrilling contests, with Magwa sealing the title after a composed six-wicket win in the final.
