Matchday Five full fixture schedule

The Cricket Uganda Men’s 50-Over League heads into Matchday Five with all fixtures set for Sunday, 29th March 2026.

This weekend’s action will be limited to the Gold and Silver categories, with no Bronze fixtures on schedule.

In the Gold category, four teams still searching for their first win will be desperate to get off the mark, while in the Silver division, in-form sides will look to build momentum as others aim to reset their campaigns.

Ceylon Lions vs JACC – Jinja SS Oval (Gold Category)
In Jinja, two sides yet to taste victory this season face off in a must-win encounter.

JACC have played just one game so far, falling short by 2 wickets to GM Sugar, while Ceylon Lions have endured a tough start, losing both their matches, a 63-run defeat to Tornado Bees and a 4-wicket loss to Kutchi Tigers.

Currently second from bottom, Ceylon Lions will be boosted by the return of Mathew Musinguzi and Charles Musemeza from national duty in Namibia.

JACC also regain their captain Kenneth Waiswa, whose was in Namibia too.

With the bat, Perry Wazombe has shown promise for Ceylon, while Jonathan Nyiiro has been JACC’s standout performer.

In the bowling department, Waiswa’s five-wicket haul in the opener remains a key highlight for JACC, while David Eric Wabwire, with 4 wickets so far, will lead Ceylon’s charge.

Historically, meetings between these two have been inconclusive, one abandoned due to rain and another forfeited by Ceylon, adding extra intrigue to this clash.

Mukono Warriors vs Aboojo – Serenity Oval, Kamengo (Gold Category)
Another battle of winless sides sees Mukono Warriors take on Aboojo in what will be their first-ever meeting.

Aboojo lost their opener to Rounders by 6 wickets, while Mukono Warriors suffered a similar 6-wicket defeat to Tornado Bees last Sunday.

Both teams receive timely boosts with returning national players.

Aboojo welcome back Joseph Baguma, whose bowling form in Namibia could prove decisive, while Mukono Warriors will rely on Gerald Olipa’s batting to inspire their push for a first victory.

Notably, Mukono Warriors are newly promoted this season, while Aboojo are more experienced at the top level, now in their third consecutive season, a contrast that could shape the contest.

Soroti City vs SKLPS – Florida Oval (Silver Category)
Soroti City will be eager to finally get their campaign underway after their opener against Wanderers was washed out.

Soroti Cricket Club men’s team in search of their first win of the campaign

They face an SKLPS side that struggled in their first outing, losing by 68 runs to Ismaili Community after a batting collapse.

While there is no recent 50-over meeting between the two, Soroti City dominated their last encounters in the 2024 UCA T20 Championship, winning by 6 runs and 26 runs respectively, a psychological edge they will hope to carry forward.

Avengers vs Wanderers – Entebbe Cricket Oval (Silver Category)
Wanderers head into this fixture with renewed confidence after a dominant 165-run win over Nile Cricket Club, bouncing back strongly from their rain-affected opener against Soroti City.

Avengers, on the other hand, will be desperate to respond after a heavy 151-run defeat to Ismaili Community in their opening match.

Both teams were relegation contenders last season in Division One, and their past meetings reflect a competitive rivalry.

One match was abandoned due to heavy rain in Lugogo, while in the second, Avengers chased down 250 runs to win by 7 wickets.

With Wanderers looking sharper this season, they will be keen to settle old scores, while Avengers aim to rediscover their rhythm.

FINAL WORD
Matchday Five presents a defining moment for several teams.

In the Gold category, the pressure is firmly on sides still searching for their first win, while in the Silver division, momentum and redemption take center stage.

With returning national players, lingering rivalries, and crucial early-season points on the line, Sunday promises another gripping chapter in the Cricket Uganda Men’s 50-Over League.
