Day two of the Cricket Uganda Men’s 50-Over League brought drama, redemption, and a few surprises across the Silver and Bronze divisions.

Ismaili Community CC maintained their unbeaten start in the Silver category with a hard-fought win over SKLPS CC, avenging last season’s narrow defeat.

In Bronze, Pak Shaheens CC stunned Bronze Group B leaders Kifaru CC, while administrative results saw victories awarded to Jinja SS CC and Tornado CC via forfeits.

Ismaili Community produced a disciplined all-round performance to beat SKLPS CC by 68 runs in a low-scoring thriller at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

The victory also served as sweet revenge for last season’s one-wicket loss and kept Ismaili perched atop the Silver table with two wins from two starts.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Ismaili posted 169 all out in 40.1 overs.

Kamran Wali Khan provided early momentum with a breezy 44 off 28 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes.

Skipper Riazat Ali Shah added 23 off 24, while Imtiaz Ali (19) and Ghulam Hunzai (13) provided valuable middle-order support.

Shehran Ali chipped in with a late 14 as Ismaili pushed close to 170.

For SKLPS, Dinesh Manji Vekariya was the standout bowler with 4/32 in 10 tight overs.

Navin Pindoria took two wickets, and Gajpariya Rinkesh Ramesh and Varsani Nimesh Shamji each chipped in to keep the scoring in check.

Chasing 170, SKLPS struggled to build partnerships after a shaky start.

Chetan Halai tried to anchor with 30 off 75 balls, while Vishal Bandheri played aggressively, scoring 31 off 25 balls, including three sixes.

Ismaili’s captain Riazat Ali spun his way to six wickets for just 60 runs across 25 overs, but it was Junaid Khan’s unplayable spell that sealed the contest.

He took 4/12 in 8.5 overs, including five maidens, while Kamran Wali Khan supported with 2/23.

Ghulam Hunzai, Kashan Yar Baig, and Riazat Ali Shah each grabbed a wicket to round off the win.

BRONZE CATEGORY

Kifaru CC vs Pak Shaheens CC – Florida Cricket Oval

Pak Shaheens CC pulled off a statement victory in their league debut over Kifaru CC, ending the latter’s perfect start from Day One.

Batting first, Kifaru posted 148 all out in 27.5 overs.

Wicket keeper batter Utkarsh Kothari top-scored with 63 off 50 balls, smashing five sixes and three fours, while Devansh Patel added 38.

Despite some late resistance from Hiral Patel (12) and Shlok Dalwadi (6*), wickets tumbled at regular intervals.

Pak Shaheens paced their chase efficiently, reaching the target in 21.2 overs.

Sunil Kumar starred with an unbeaten 67 off 40 balls, including four sixes and six boundaries.

Abdul Basit Habib contributed 39, while Athar Ali supported with 22.

They guided Pak Shaheens home despite losing occasional wickets.

For Kifaru, Harsh Panchal, Farid Dinani, Hardik Donga, and Hiral Patel shared wickets, but it wasn’t enough to defend their total.

Result: Jinja SS CC won by forfeit

The Bronze Group A fixture did not take place after Mukono Development arrived late at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

Jinja SS CC were awarded the win and corresponding points without a ball being bowled.

Premier CC vs Tornado CC – Bronze A
Result: Tornado CC won by forfeit

Similarly, Premier CC forfeited their Bronze A clash against Tornado CC.

The victory points were awarded to Tornado CC.

Ismaili Community CC maintained their perfect start, avenging last season’s heartbreak against SKLPS CC.
