Excitement is building ahead of the Waterfalls Men’s Elite T20 tournament, set to bowl off tomorrow at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, as top male cricketers from across the country converge for another highly anticipated edition following the conclusion of the Women’s Elite tournament yesterday.

The tournament will feature three competitive sides: Itanda Kayakers, Bujjagali Rafters, and Karuma Rapids, bringing together a blend of experience and emerging talent from across the nation.

The competition comes at a crucial time, ahead of a busy year for both the Cricket Cranes and the Baby Cricket Cranes, with major qualification tournaments on the horizon.

Itanda Kayakers enter the tournament with confidence, having lifted the title in the inaugural 2023 edition. However, Sipi Trekkers, who were in that edition will miss out on this one.

One of the standout features of the tournament remains its unique development-focused rules.

In every playing eleven, teams are required to field at least three Under-19 players, a regulation that mirrors the Women’s Elite League and continues to provide a vital pathway for young talent.

Unlike the women’s competition, the men’s tournament will be played without a rest day, promising an intense and action-packed schedule throughout.

On the technical front, the teams will be guided by experienced figures.

Itanda Kayakers will be coached by Jonathan Ssebanja, Bujjagali Rafters will be under the guidance of Sadam Oyaga, while former international Roger Mukasa will lead the Karuma Rapids setup.

The opening fixtures for tomorrow promise an exciting start to the Waterfalls Men’s Elite T20 tournament.

Bujjagali Rafters will face a demanding double-header on the opening day, taking on Itanda Kayakers in the morning match scheduled for 10:00 AM before returning to action against Karuma Rapids in the afternoon encounter at 2:00 PM.

With all teams eager to set the tone early in the competition, fans can expect high-intensity cricket as the tournament bowls off.

With competitive squads assembled and high stakes on the line, the stage is set for a thrilling contest that is expected to further strengthen the stature of the Waterfalls Elite League on the domestic cricket calendar.
