The highly anticipated second season of the BATBALL Program kicks off at the end of this month, with BATBALL X Jinja T10 set for 27–30 November 2025 at the Jinja SSS Cricket Oval.
Organized by our partners Batball Uganda Limited and the Jinja Association of Cricket Clubs (JACC), this event opens another exciting season for the program.
Four U-22 teams will compete in a fast-paced T10 format, continuing Batball’s mission to strengthen Uganda’s cricket development pipeline and prepare young players for high-intensity, globally broadcast competitions.
Stiff competition is expected as all teams field strong squads inspired by familiar animal identities.
The inaugural edition, co-hosted by Kampala and Jinja, saw the Central Rhinos edge Rwanda’s Emerging Team in August 2023.
Building on that success, sixteen players graduated to BATBALL MAXX, the global T20 franchise tournament held in March 2025 and streamed worldwide.
CEO BATBALL Uganda Limited, Aakarshit Madaan said:
We’re grateful to Cricket Uganda for their continued trust and collaboration as we take the BATBALL X Jinja T10 tournament to the next level.
This BATBALL X Jinja T10 Event, in collaboration with JACC, features a wider age group — extending up to U-22 — which allows university players, A-team members, and emerging cricketers to gain valuable game time and exposure.
Together with Cricket Uganda, we aim to create a stronger bridge between youth and senior cricket, ensuring the nation’s next generation of talent is ready to shine on bigger stages.
This year’s BATBALL X Jinja T10 will feature a refreshed lineup of four competitive teams: Leopards, Bulls, Elephants, and Rhinos.
The tournament will follow a double round-robin format, with each team playing the others twice, leading up to the semi-finals, a third-place playoff, and the grand finale.
A total of 16 matches will be played over four action-packed days and streamed live worldwide.
Each squad will consist of 14 players, a coach, and a team manager.
Through its sponsorship of the Boys Schools Cricket Week—covering scoring boards, officials’ uniforms, other logistics and detailed data collection to aid player selection Batball has strengthened its partnership with Cricket Uganda’s development wing.
The final squads feature standout performers from the 2025 edition in Fort Portal, alongside emerging talent identified through Cricket Uganda’s development pathway.
Cricket Uganda Development Manager, Davis Turinawe said:
BATBALL X Jinja T10 is a vital step in our development pathway.
By extending to U-22, we’re giving young players the chance to bridge school cricket and senior levels, while showcasing Uganda’s emerging talent on a bigger stage.”
This particular event will be followed by two other tournaments which have been listed on the BATBALL Program calendar; BATBALL MAXX Qualifier and the ultimate showdown, the BATBALL MAXX.
