Cricket Cranes’ Alpesh Ramjani has described his move to the Chitwan Rhinos in the Nepal Premier League as a “great opportunity” and a “proud moment for every Ugandan.”

Ramjani’s profile has continued to grow since he was named in the 2023 T20 World Team of the Year.

Aplesh Ramjani joins Chitwan Rhinos

He represented the Cricket Cranes at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies, where his all-round contributions further cemented his reputation.

With the ball, he is trusted both in the powerplay and through the middle overs, while with the bat, he provides stability and scoring options in the middle order.

His ability to adapt to different phases of the game has made him an invaluable figure for Uganda.

Speaking to Cricket Uganda, Ramjani said:

“Well it’s a great opportunity as a player to represent at one of the leagues. It’s a proud moment for every Ugandan. Well as a professional my duty [is] to give my best for the team. Well it’s a new team, new players, but as a pro we are here to give our best.”

For the Chitwan Rhinos, Ramjani’s versatility offers balance and resilience, while for Uganda, his presence in the NPL is a symbol of progress and a pathway for more players to break into international franchise cricket.

The second edition of the Nepal Premier League will run from November 17th to December 13th, featuring eight franchise teams and 32 matches.

Aplesh Ramjani has been a national sensation
