Cricket Uganda welcomes the London Nigerians Cricket Club (LNCC) for a landmark tour that blends sport, heritage, and international friendship.

From October 24th to November 2nd, the scheduled games will unfold to reinforce LNCC’s niche of spirited play and cultural pride.

LNCC travels annually to countries around the world—and this year, Uganda is the place to be.

A Club with Purpose and Pride

Founded in 1991 by brothers Tom and Roland Ilube, LNCC was created to offer a social and competitive platform for people of Nigerian background and those with an interest in Nigeria.

The club competes in leagues, plays friendly matches, and organises coaching clinics, media events, and international tours to promote cricket and community engagement.

Their ethos is simple yet powerful: to connect people and promote a positive image of Nigeria through sport.

Uganda Tour Highlights

The team arrives in Uganda today, October 24th, and will spend the next two days settling in and preparing for the week ahead.

Training begins on October 26th at Lugogo Cricket Oval, followed by a series of exciting fixtures:

  • October 27: LNCC vs Chairman’s XI
  • October 29: LNCC vs Umpires & Scorers XI
  • October 31: LNCC vs Young Abagurusi
  • November 1: LNCC vs Abagurusi

All matches will be held at Lugogo from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, providing fans with the opportunity to witness high-spirited cricket and cultural exchange.

More Than Just Matches

Rest days on October 28th and 30th allow the LNCC delegation to explore Kampala, engage with local communities, and reflect on the deeper significance of their visit.

These moments of pause are as vital as the matches themselves—fostering connection, learning, and legacy.

A Tour to Remember

LNCC’s visit to Uganda is more than a sporting event—it’s a celebration of shared values, diaspora pride, and the enduring spirit of cricket.

As the team departs on November 2nd, they leave behind new friendships, unforgettable memories, and a strengthened bond between Uganda and the global Nigerian community.
