The UG20 enters Matchday 3 this Sunday with all fixtures packed into a single day of high-octane action.
While the first two matchdays spread across the weekend, this time all eyes will be on Sunday’s fixtures — and with crucial group points on the line, the race to the knockout stages begins to heat up.
Mukono Development vs Ceylon Lions – Florida Oval
It’s a first-ever meeting between these two teams — and it comes with plenty of storylines.
Mukono Development, playing in their debut UG20 campaign, face off against Ceylon Lions, who were Semi finalists last year in the UG20 and have been deep in the Division One title race just months ago.
Adding extra spice, Mukono’s captain Fahad Mutagana will face his former club, having turned out for Ceylon in last season’s campaign.
Mukono enter the match on a high after two convincing wins over Africa Cricket Club on Matchday One.
Spearheading their charge is Steven Othieno, the tournament’s leading wicket-taker so far with 10 wickets in just two matches.
Ceylon, on the other hand, will be eager to bounce back after a tough double defeat to Kutchi Tigers last weekend.
With both sides in Group D, this match could go a long way in determining who joins Kutchi Tigers in the knockout stages.
Kutchi Tigers vs Patidar – Entebbe Cricket Oval
In another crucial Group D clash, high-flying Kutchi Tigers take on their sister club Patidar CC at the lake-side Entebbe Oval.
Kutchi are coming off back-to-back wins over Ceylon Lions (by 8 wickets and 5 runs), while Patidar also impressed on Matchday Two, defeating Africa Cricket Club twice (by 72 runs and 3 wickets).
This all-family affair will be anything but friendly — with both sides looking to maintain momentum and push for control of the group.
Kutchi, in particular, will be targeting the top spot currently held by Mukono Development.
Avengers vs JACC – Jinja SS Cricket Oval
Group C leaders JACC take their unbeaten record (4 wins from 4) into a blockbuster showdown with Avengers, who are still licking their wounds from a narrow 2-run loss to Ismaili Community last weekend.
Avengers will look to bounce back behind the firepower of Christopher Kidega, the tournament’s leading run-scorer so far with a stunning 200 runs from just two innings.
These two sides have recent history — they last met at this very venue in the 50-over league in July, where Avengers emerged victorious by 40 runs.
Expect fireworks in Jinja.
Rounders vs Kutchi Tigers B – GM Sugar Oval
Group B action continues in Nyenga, as seasoned outfit Rounders meet debutants Kutchi Tigers B for the first time ever.
Rounders split their opening weekend with Aboojo, bouncing back from a morning defeat to win the return fixture by a commanding 104 runs.
Kutchi Tigers B, meanwhile, are still searching for their first UG20 win after a pair of narrow losses to Nile.
This is a big opportunity for both teams to make a statement in a wide-open group.
Tornado vs Premier – Serenity Oval, Kamengo
Two contrasting stories collide in this Group C matchup.
Tornado come in with confidence after sweeping Jinja SS last weekend, winning both games by 48 runs (DLS in the first).
With their campaign finally up and running, they’ll want to keep the momentum alive.
Premier, on the other hand, failed to honour their fixtures against JACC and were handed two walkover defeats.
Questions remain over their consistency and squad depth — and Tornado will be looking to capitalize.
What to Watch:
- Will Mukono Development keep their perfect record intact — or will Ceylon Lions rediscover their winning ways?
 - Can Kutchi Tigers continue their charge — or will Patidar steal the spotlight?
 - Will Christopher Kidega and JACC’s unbeaten run collide in a match-of-the-day showdown?
 - Can Kutchi Tigers B find their footing against a fired-up Rounders squad?

With just three matchdays played and as we get to the business end of the UG20, every match from here on could define a team’s tournament.
Sunday promises drama, rivalries, and breakout performances as Uganda’s T20 elite continue their quest for glory.
