Rounders Edge Aboojo in a Tense Low-Scoring Thriller at Entebbe Oval

At Entebbe Cricket Oval, Aboojo CC won the toss and elected to bat first in a nail-biting low-scoring encounter. The innings began brightly as Brian Asaba (20 off 16), Joseph Baguma (31 off 34) and Ivan Thawithemwira (15 off 7) helped the Tooro team reach 52 for the loss of two wickets inside seven overs. However, the momentum shifted sharply when Rounders’ bowlers Siraje Nsubuga, Brian Masaba, Tembo Zubair and Narinder Singh triggered a collapse, taking wickets in quick succession. Aboojo were eventually bowled out for a modest 111 runs in just 22.2 overs.

Chasing 112, Rounders CC were rocked early when captain Narinder Singh fell for a duck in the first over, courtesy of Mathew Musinguzi’s fiery spell. At 46/6 after 11 overs, the match looked poised for an upset. But the determined Steven Wabwose (34 off 62) and Siraje Nsubuga (10 off 60) steadied the ship with a vital 54-run partnership. Though Nsubuga fell at 100, Wabwose remained unbeaten, guiding Rounders to a hard-fought 3-wicket victory in the 32nd over.
