Three fixtures will headline the bowl-off of the 2026 UG20 Men’s Tournament on September 6, 2026, as 23 teams begin their journey in Uganda’s premier men’s T20 competition and the battle for the title will running from till December 12, 2026.
Tournament Format & Structure
- Composition: Leagued will be comprised of 23 Teams divided into 4 groups.
- Group Stage: Teams will compete in their respective groups.
- Quarter-finals: The top two finishing teams from each group will advance.
- Semi-finals: The remaining four teams will compete in knockout matches.
- Final: The tournament will conclude with the championship final on December 12, 2026.

Opening Weekend Fixtures (6th September 2026)
Centurion vs SKLPS – Entebbe Oval
In Group B at Entebbe Cricket Oval, Centurion Cricket Club will face SKLPS in one of the opening fixtures.
Centurion are a new team in the league, but they made an impressive start in their debut season, earning promotion to Division Two.
Last year, SKLPS competed in Group A and finished at the bottom after eight games, losing seven and recording one no-result. They will be hoping for a stronger campaign this time around.
SKLPS have also strengthened their squad with the addition of former Ugandan international Nandi Patel, and they will be hoping his experience can make a difference.
Mukono Warriors vs ACC – Florida Oval
In Group D, Mukono Warriors will be without Ronald Lutaaya, Fahad Mutagana and Gerald Olipa, who will travel to Rwanda with the men’s team for the ILT20 Cup.
The Warriors have, however, added Geoffrey Kakaire to their roster from Wanderers Cricket Club.
They will face ACC, a side largely made up of schoolboys. ACC have added Jonathan Nyenya and Davis Wanyama to their roster after the two impressed during the recently concluded Boys Nationals in Fort Portal City.
Last year, Mukono Warriors were in Group B and narrowly missed out on the playoffs by just one point, finishing with 11 points behind Rounders. They will be hoping to go one step further this time.
GM Sugar vs JACC – New GM Sugar Oval, Nyenga
In last year’s UG20, GM Sugar reached the semi-finals before losing to Aboojo by 21 runs in a reduced-overs match while chasing 94.
They will be hoping to go further this time, having added Simon Ssesazi and Henry Ssenyondo to their squad. The two are expected to provide the boost needed as GM Sugar chase the title.
JACC, meanwhile, will be without Kenneth Waiswa, who is travelling to Rwanda with the Cricket Cranes.
Cricket Uganda Sets the Stage
Speaking ahead of the UG20 league bowl-off, Cricket Uganda Operations Officer Javillah Ninsiima said the tournament will feature 23 teams competing across four groups and five venues.
“This weekend we will start our UG20 league for the men. We have a total of 23 teams and these teams are divided into four groups. We shall have this tournament across five venues,” Ninsiima said.
She added that the opening weekend will feature matches at Entebbe Oval, Florida Oval and New GM Sugar Oval, with defending champions Ismaili Community beginning their title defense the following weekend at Lugogo against Kutchi Tigers.
As the first ball is bowled this weekend, the 23 teams will begin the long journey towards one prize UG20 glory.
