Game 1 Indian XI 141/3 (20 overs) defeated Uganda U23 137/5 (20 overs) by 5 runs. 

Game 2 Uganda U23 156/5 (20 overs) defeated Indian XI 115 all out by 41 runs.

The Indian Association of Uganda donated five million shillings towards the cricket cranes trip to India next month. The association handed over the dummy cheque at the conclusion of the Republic Cup game that was played between a Uganda U23 side and an Indian XI. 

The day was a celebration to mark two significant days for both India and Uganda, India was celebrating its Republic Day while Uganda was celebrating its Liberation Day. The two sides played two T20 games with the Indian XI winning the side game by five runs while the Uganda U23 select side won the second game by 41 runs. 

The highly entertaining games were very competitive with Robinson Obuya the stand out of the day scoring 98 not out for the Uganda U23 side in the second game. With the two sides each with a single win, a super over was used to decide the winner. 

The more experienced Indian XI batted 1st and scored 14 runs in their innings, Robinson Obuya and Zephaniah Katungi were the chosen men for the Uganda U23 side but they failed to put Grish Nasta away as they only managed to score nine runs of the required 14. The Indian Xi claiming the win by five runs. 

With the Cricket Cranes set to tour India next month, the Indian Association of Uganda who organized the event gave five million shillings towards the preparations of the team. The dummy cheque was handed over by the India High Commissioner Mr. Shri Ravi Shankar to the Chairman Uganda Cricket Mr. Ansasira Bashir and the CEO Martin Ondeko. The Cricket Cranes will visit India next month playing games in two games in Mumbai and four games at the Sanjay Farm in Chikili.
