Bat Ball X Tournament Launched

The Batball and Uganda Cricket Association today (19/7/2023) launched the Batball X tournament at Cooper Chimney under the theme "Tackling Hypertension with every Boundary".

The event will take place from 15th to 20th August 2023 showcasing the talent of Uganda and creating a healthier Uganda and all the games will have a live stream on Batball TV so that you don’t miss any action.

The tournament will be hosted at Lugogo Cricket Oval and Jinja SS Cricket Oval and it will have 6 teams participating, each region will select players based on the Bat Ball Open statistics to make up the five regional sides with the sixth team shall be a Rwanda Select team comprised of only talented players from 1000 hills.

Batball had different regional open tournaments running in the different regions starting from December last year that included, Batball East Edition, Nile Edition, Northern Edition, Central Edition and Western Edition and over 200 students participated in these tournaments with representatives on the U-19 boys team heading to Tanzania for the U-19 world cup qualifiers.

The local organizing committee Chairpersons Mr. Kaheru Paul (Kampala) and Mr. Imaka Isaac (Jinja) said that all is set and they are ready to host this prestigious event.

Batball X tournament has not forgotten its social responsibility and the tournament will be dedicated to creating awareness for Hypertension, since sports activities attract many numbers, the tournament will be used to raise awareness on health issues and leave a lasting impact on society. Batball Uganda invites everyone to be part of this thrilling edition that intends to reshape the future of cricket the tournament will have all games played in a 10 overs a side format with Group A consisting of East, North, and Nile and their games will be played at Jinja SS Cricket Oval, while group B featuring Rwanda Select, Central and West and will take center stage at Lugogo Cricket oval as fixtures attached below.
