Uganda Cricket Association has summoned a squad of 24 ladies to start preparations for Global qualifiers scheduled for September 7th to 20th in Gaborone Botswana.

The squad of 24 started practise today at the Lugogo Cricket Oval after all the players passed the mandatory Covid test. The squad includes players from Soroti, Jinja and Kampala.

All practise will be done under strict adherence to SOPs to ensure that the players practise from a safe environment. The squad has been divided into groups of 4 with the sessions conducted by Head Coach Suraj Karavadra and his assistant Alpha Adowa. 

Uganda will compete against 10 others for the crown of African Queens a feat they were able to achieve in 2017 in Namibia. The 11 nation tournament in Botswana will have Botswana, Cameroon, Namibia, Nigeria, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
