Nehal Bibodi has been appointed the chairman selectors committee for a period of two years until July 2021. Nehal has been a member of the selection committee under the leadership of Benjamin Musoke whose contract recently ended.

A prolific top-order batsman for the Cricket Cranes during his playing days, Nehal is one of the finest batsmen to have represented Uganda at the international scene and his experience will be key in the role.

Nehal is very familiar with local players and he is always present at local league games as he monitors the progress of players as they play locally.

Nehal was delighted with the appointment and this is his response on the appointment

“I accept the appointment and would like to thank the board and CEO for having the trust in me to execute the role. I also want to extend my gratitude to our outgoing chairman Benjamin Musoke who led us well and from him I picked lessons. I want to assure the board that we shall always select the best players to represent Uganda”

The selection committee has three members Richard Lwamafa, Richard Okia and Nehal Bibodi as chairman. Their 1st assignment will be selecting a team that will represent Uganda at the World Challenge Cup in Hong Kong later this year.

They will also be tasked with selecting a new national team captain since Roger Mukasa was relieved of the duty after the Africa T20 World Cup qualifiers.
