The Lady Cricket Cranes ended their build up tour to Zimbabwe on a high after winning the final of the t20 Challenge against Zimbabwe by 7 runs.

The Ladies are preparing for the Global Qualifiers due in July and used the tournament as a build up to the main event.

The tournament featured four teams in Tanzania, Namibia, Uganda and hosts Zimbabwe. The Ladies started with a comfortable win against Namibia but had a wobble losing to Tanzania before picking up wins against hosts Zimbabwe and Namibia.

They picked a crucial win against Tanzania and despite losing to Zimbabwe in the second round robin game they managed to make the final.

In the final Immaculate Nakisuyi (34) and Franklyn Najjumba (28) helped the ladies post a decent 104/5. In the chase the Carol Namugenyi (1/9) bowled a mean spell up front that had Zimbabwe with only 33 runs in 10 overs. Zimbabwe failed to keep up with the asking rate and Rita Musamali (2/17) and Gertrude Candiru (1/22) picked up the pieces of the tail.

The series win gives the the lady cricket cranes confidence as they prepare for the global qualifiers and coaches Francis Otieno and Grace Mutyagaba should be knowing who will be on their final 14.
